No Drive Visible for Installation
« on: January 31, 2025, 05:35:54 pm »
I just got a new Dell-PC. But i cannot inststall ArcaOS, cause there s inly the installation-stick visible, not the 1TB harddisk (OEM 10EC Consistant NVME S6001TB). What can i do?
pc allows legacy mode (no UEFI).

while loading the installation module i get the message: "could not copy NND.MSG".
I disabled "SATA" in the Bios, but that didn't help.

Have you tried using DFSee to check the disk and, if necessary, prepare it for OS/2?

Hi Andreas, what version of ArcaOS are you installing? You need a new enough version to support the NVME device, forget exactly which.

Hello

Just to add more question. What if you enabled UEFI and install ArcaOS 5.1 with UEFi support? (if that is the ArcaOS version that you have available).

Also, there was a way to generate the "testlog generic" log from the USB boot. If you share that report file here on the forum, it may give us more hints about the hardware and what driver may be missing for the install.

Hi andreas

When booting the installation stick select to "Boot with own choices" or similar wording and make sure the nvme driver is selected.

Hi,

New PC with nvme.
Has the nvme GPT partition ? If yes, you must have latest ArcaOS.
Try to boot from a DFSEE bootable media and check what it report.
