Explosions
| The level of explosions to show during attacks.

Full quality explosions
| Turn this off if the explosion animations slow down Lux too much. It will skip some frames in the explosions in order to speed them up.

Show one less army
| In the rules of Lux every country is required to have at least one army at all times. Thus it is possible to always show one less then the actual number of armies, with only one army present not having any armies displayed at all.

Show army graphics
| When selected, Lux will display images of men and tanks along with the number of armies.
|
Flash bonus takeovers
| When selected, Lux will briefly flash the name and bonus of each continent region when a player takes it over.

Auto-grow maps to fit screen |
When selected, smaller maps will be scaled larger so they fill the screen. |
Auto-shrink maps to fit screen |
When selected, large maps will be scaled smaller so they fit on your screen with no need for scrolling. |
Player info inside map window |
When selected, the Player Info area will be displayed inside of the map window. You can drag it around the map area by clicking on the middle and dragging. |
Chat in separate window |
When selected, the chat area will be put in a different window during networked games. |
Show cards at start of turn
|
At the start of each of your turns the card screen will be shown according to your condition.

Country border width
|
The border of countries is used to mark the continent they are part of. This adjusts the width of the border.

Attacks | |
Attack per click
|
When you click to attack an enemy country you have three options: Perform one battle, perform battles until the set number of armies has been lost (from either side), or battle until one side has completely lost. You can change this on the fly by holding down the command (apple) key.

Advance armies
|
When you conquer an enemy country your armies can be set to automatically move in. Otherwise you manually control how many armies to advance. This can be changed on the fly by holding down the shift key.

Check for Lux updates online
|
Allow Lux to ask the internet if there is a newer version of Lux Delux available.
|
Look for new plugins online
|
If selected, Lux will check for new maps and plugins and alert you when they are available.
|
Look for missing themes online
|
If you join a network game on a map using a theme that isn't installed, having this preference checked will allow Lux to look for the theme online and install it for you.
|
Language
|
Select the language you would like to use. You will have to restart Lux for a language change to take effect. |
Computer player speed
|
This is the speed at which the computer's moves get displayed.

Use cards
|
If selected then every turn you take over at least one country you are given a card. You can cash in a set of 3 cards for more armies.
|
Transfer cards to conquering player
|
All of a player's cards will be transferred to the player who eliminates him from the game.
|
Force immediate cash for 5 or more
|
Normally cards can only be cashed at the start of your turn. With this option you must immediately cash cards whenever you have 5 or more. This happens when players get eliminated and their cards transferred.

Card sequence
|
The number of armies that is given out for card sets.

Continents bonuses go up at
|
You can specify a rate at which the continent bonuses increase over the course of a game.
|
Turns | |
Random starting order
|
If selected then the player's order will be shuffled before each game.
|
Turn time limit
|
If enabled then each player only has the allotted amount of time to take their turn. If they don't finish their turn in the given time then the game will automatically go to the next player's turn.

Hosting | |
Ranked game
|
When you host a public internet game you can choose to have it scored by the Sillysoft rankings server.
|
Auto-start next game
|
If enabled then the next game will automatically start after the current one ends.
|
Remote player order
|
This setting determines the ordering of remote network players while hosting an online game.

Sounds Tab | |
Here you can specify which sounds you want Lux to play, along with the volume. |
Winning Messages Tab |
At the end of the game, the winning player gets a message displayed across the screen. In this area you can enter some messages of your own.If you win, Lux will randomly select one and display it.In networked games, all players will see the message of the winner.
You can also specify a player name with the messages. If you play under any other name, Lux will use the default winning messages.
