Synopsis:
A nice game to the kids, to learn some mathematics and to use the keyboard.l

From the site:

“KidStreet v1.1

At the tender age of 47 I am blessed with four lovely grandchildren. KidStreet was borne out of a desire to write something that they could play with and at the same time it is my hope that it will help them learn a few basic principals without realizing they are actually learning something.

With KidStreet your children will learn to recognize letters and numbers as well as learning to spell, type and even pick up a few math skills while they are hopefully enjoying the sights and sounds of the program. As a parent or guardian you may want to customize the sights and sounds to add variety and possibly prevent them from getting old and overbearing (I meant the sights and sounds... not the kids) for your kids.

There are 32,000 words of varying lengths already setup for the program but you are free to edit or substitute any words you choose. There is a built in word list editor for your use.

KidStreet is especially suited to pre-kindergarten through elementary aged children. Word sizes are adjustable so your child can start by trying to recognize individual letters of the alphabet and as they progress you can "up the ante," so to speak, by setting the word length longer. Older kids can polish their typing skills with the longer word lengths and brush up on their math with Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication and Division routines.

Besides the sounds indicating correct and incorrect answers, the addition and subtraction routines have some smiley faces to help kids visualize the mathematical aspect of each problem.

Because of the amount of graphics and sound in the program, it is suggested that you have some pretty good horsepower to run it. KidStreet will run on Pentiums in the 100mhz range but it is really comfortable at 300mhz and up. “
