last updated at 25 Apr, 2007 07:00 (2 times) Even though I am a huge fan of OS/2, I'll have to admit it was a flop ... a marketing flop. At the time OS/2 was the only real 32 bit contender. It was a technical marvel in it's day. When Windows 95 came out, it was a technical Frankenstein, a mix of 16 and 32 bit code. In all honesty, who came out on top? I'll admit it was a flop, even though it pains me to say it. Anyways, that is all behind us. After all we have a great community here. What we have together is more important than any stupid journalism about technical flops. You know what they say about opinions ... they are like @ssholes. Everyone has one. |

True the marketing was a disaster but not the product; but compare with Microsoft Bob; now that is a truly shitty product that Microsoft really pushed to the market. So there is after all a difference betwen flops and flops. |

Thanks cyberspittle. This could not possibly have been stated better. How true! cyberspittle (25 Apr, 2007 07:00): Even though I am a huge fan of OS/2, I'll have to admit it was a flop ... a marketing flop. At the time OS/2 was the only real 32 bit contender. I believe that the marketing person responsible fro Bob was one Melinda French, better known these days as Melinda Gates. Stuart |

| In the feedback section, there is mention of who created it. I left feedback and sent an e-mail to the author.
