Hi,
I just spent (probaply wasted) a lot of time playing around with my system.
I'm using eCS 1.1, CandyBarz (with the Aqua skin, modified by me) and my own color scheme.
I use the unofficial AquaMoz theme for Mozilla. jEdit is a bit modified, too. E.g. I use the BufferTabs, LineGuides (handy for FORTRAN) and Headlines (RSS reader) plugins as well as the "Look and Feel" plugin with an Aqua-themepack. WarpVision's Aqua Skin is from the original homepage where you can find it in some FTP archives (where you can find the other skins, but it isn't linked at the homepage). The other program isn't Winamp but PM123 with a transformed and just slightly modified Winamp Aqua-skin that has no round corners .
I also don't use the eCenter but the good ol' toolbar with BubblePad and the lSwitcher as seperate program that just pops up if I move my pointer to the screen bottom.
The program in the lower left corner is DRIVEY (http://drivey.com/) (it was just mentioned at /.) running fine with Odin.
There's also WarpGLOBE in the background and eClock but you can't see much of it.
If you are interested, I could post another screenshot showing a native OS/2 dialog (with buttons and checkboxes and so on) and the lSwitcher (just modified the colors).

What do you think?

Looks good! especially compared to my boring desktop

I am not a fan of the OSX interface, but it does look good. I have considered changing my desktop appearance, but just never got around to it. Basically using stock eCS themes with eCenter and SmartBar.

I like what you've done, but I'm also not a big fan of the OSX look.

I've given up on modifying my desktop these days. Lots of the available desktop look/feel enhancers are old and buggy .

I still make some background jpg's, but not much any more. It's difficult to get modern graphic effects using native OS/2 graphics programs. I've been considering trying the latest version of GIMP-via XFree-but it's a lot of effort and many have been unable to do it.

I gave up on CandyBarz as well as the last few times I've tried it, it was just too buggy. I know many do not have problems, but the only additional thing it gives is pseudo-transparent folder backgrounds. This is nice mind you, but not enough... I also have Styler/2, XWorkplace, Object Desktop, (bits and peices), IconPlus and the native eCS stuff. I also use WPSWizard and a few of the gadgets. I find all those a minimum to tolerate continually looking at the old desktop.

I wish there were new/more look/feel enhancers coming down the pipe, but even XWorkplace is all, but dead. Occassional bugfix releases are made and that's fine and welcomed, but no new content. And besides that, there's nothing. 8(

I like what you have done very much, only shame is that you cannot get the "rounded corners". Unlike Ben Dragon and bl00d, I am a big fan of Mac OS X and use an iMac G5 at home in addition to eCS 1.2.

I am hoping and praying that eCS 2.0 has started to address the "look & feel" aspects of my favourite x86 OS. We need to see full support for .PNG and newer do that we can use the higher quality "icons" that exist. Also a softer, rounded feel to the windows would also help

There are all kinds of themes available for eCS. There is a similar theme called Lights - Imac theme with cleaner looking control buttons. However, because eCS's windows theme manager does not have all the capabilities of CandyBarz, the bigger slider buttons, etc cannot be modified. In fact, there are around 125 different themes available. They can be found at
