Post by: lpino on 2008.05.16, 19:26:19
The site of osFree has been down for more than three days now. Anyone knows why?

Thanks

Hosted on Linux, thats the problem right there :|

Lol, all joking aside, I honestly don't know. I don't think its anything catastrophic, probably just some maintenance.

I hope that's the reason. For some time there was a lot of progress. It seems they reached a milesstone and then the updates stoped and then the site is gone... mmm

Had they reached a milestone? Last I saw they had it booting with LILO and Grub, did they get further than that?

Maybe IBM found them?

Actually is a bit more complex. They are trying to follow the boot process used bye OS/2 PPC, using lots of differents codes, GRUB, os2ldr and their own code.

They ca boot the system and load a simple OS/2 server running on top of L4. They now need to go into the IFS stuff. I guess after that they be able to extend the server adding the DOS calls

Anyway, maybe you are right and IBM found them  ;D
