Title: DNS Flaw Details Leaked ...Accidentally ???
Post by: El Vato on 2008.07.22, 15:46:46
"Technical details of a flaw in the Domain Name System that made headlines earlier this month were accidentally posted to a well-read security blog Monday. (http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Security/DNS-Flaw-Details-Leaked-Accidentally/)"

Perhaps Matasano simply wanted to honor its Spanish  meaning.  In other words, assuming the Internet as being a relatively sane (sano) entity, prior to Matasano's disclosure, now the crackers will attempt to kill (Mata) that digital organism's database indexing system relevant funtion.  These guys (crackers) only need to know a single potential insecurity and, from every part of the world, they will come pounding to bring that down.

...or deface it, as they did to the so called mexican senate webpage on May 09, 2008 (http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=es&u=http://traimeunpan.wordpress.com/2008/05/10/hacked-by-knet-boer/&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=3&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3DHacked%2Bby%2BKnet%2B%2526%2BbOer%26hl%3Den).   Which originally looked similar to its current state (http://www.senado.gob.mx/).

Regarding the latter, it simply throws into view a common fact in countries formerly colonized by Spain.  It left a rigid hierachical institutionalized structure, perpetuated by its direct descendants  --the Criollos-- where mertitocracy is irrelevant and the rigidity of social classes dictates affairs.  Hence, ineptitude by the elitist upper social classes is responsible for the lack of a cohesive and self-sufficient entity.
