eCS RC 6 a is downloadable from Mensys for those who have software subscription. I guess the "a" indicates there is also a "b" and that this is the Warpstock release.
The a denotes a differentiation from the Warpstock Europe release. There were a few things fixed since the Warpstock release, though what they were I am not sure.
v00t :)
Attempting to make a bootable flashdrive to install eCS to my netbook. I'm very curious to see how eCS handles my hardware.
Interesting, Unetbootin actually images over the eCS CD properly. Now to see if it's GRUB bootloader can boot the eCS install image properly.
Can anyone tell me how to get GRUB to boot the eCS Installer CD image? I think this will work.
Has anyone tried to verify the checksums ? I am pretty sure that my zip was downloaded correctly, and yet the checksum does not match the included one. The checksum also refers to RC6 and not RC6a, so they may have forgotten to change the md5 files (when they changed from RC6 to RC6a) before uploading the files. However, I'd like to know if anyone succeeded in matching these checksums...
This is the syslinux.cfg, what Unetbootin causes the flashdrive to boot to. What do I change these values to to get the eCS boot CD install to start?
default vesamenu.c32
prompt 0
menu title UNetbootin
timeout 100
label unetbootindefault
menu label Default
kernel /ubnkern
append initrd=/ubninit

You're right, the ISO file was renamed after the creation. Corrected now :)

Correct 'RC6' was released at Warpstock Europe 2008 and on the TeamTrier DVD, RC6a is a public release.
Main difference is: re-enabled APM for ACPI, updated ACPI, updated diskchecker.
Unfortunately a new error has popped up - selecting static TCPIP configuration will break the installer. As a workaround, select DHCP and use tcpcfg2.cmd after installation is finished to change this.

Rawr. Trying to follow the instructions here (http://ewiki.ecomstation.nl/installfromharddisk) but NT will not allow the direct access to the disk that wboot requires. Is there another tool that I can use to copy the boot sector in memboot.sek to my flashdrive to get it bootable?
ACPI/APM doesn't work well for IBM Thinkpad T43.
To install without ACPI, go into the pre-boot menu, and turn off ACPI. Then, during installation, ACPI will come up disabled. Otherwise, ACPI will be installed regardless of how you check or uncheck the ACPI box.
Without ACPI, T43 works well.
The T43 has two nics, one wired and one wireless. Use Advanced or network will not work.

ACPI 3.14 supports Thinkpad notebooks. Please post a report to the bug-tracker if you have a problem -- http://ecomstation.ru/projects/acpitools/?action=logs
