Hi,
I just want to know:
Is there a kind of censorship at os2world.com? The problems to read some threads here rised for me during the last 2 months. It is still not possible for me to access the threads like:
- status update on ecomstation 2.0
- status update on ecomstation 2.0 II
and actual:
- Devcon - Discuss ACPI with the developers...
What makes me worry is that all these threads includes some kind of critics against some parts of the eCS devemopement.
Sigurd
Hi Sigurd,
:) !!
Can it be that you see nothing but the header and footer, but no page content?
No, it is not censorship, it is a problem we have with the SMF-to-Joomla bridge component.
This problem causes us headaches for quite some time and it is still not solved.
Workaround:Enter http://www.os2world.com/forum (http://www.os2world.com/forum) in your browsers adress bar.
This will launch the SMF (Simple Machines Forum) site without the Joomla integration.
(You will notice it looks a bit different)
From there, go into the subforums as needed or use the "Search" function (top, right) to do a full-text search in the threads. It is a bit clumsy sometimes to find the correct thread, but at least it works.
We are very sorry for this problem, but believe me: It is a hard one and we are working on this.
BTW I have collected direct links to your threads:
- status update on ecomstation 2.0:
http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,1727.0.html (http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,1727.0.html) - status update on ecomstation 2.0 II:
http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,1755.0.html (http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,1755.0.html) - Devcon - Discuss ACPI with the developers...:
http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,1864.0.html (http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,1864.0.html)
Hope this helps,
Thomas
Hi Thomas,
thank you very much for your help! :)
The symptoms I have are ecxaclty those you mentioned.
Unfortunately, if I click on one of the Links you provide this leads "only" to the main forum page. :-[
If I copy one of your links direct into the browser and start from there this brings me to the same main froum page.
May there be something wrong with my account? :-\
On the other hand the same happens to me if I try it without being logged in. ???
I remember that this problem has been discussed before, but for a while it was O.K while now getting worse.
Thanks again.
BTW: I wanted to reply to one of your post in the "Devcon ACPI" Thread, I was able to view it up to about 10 o clock this morning, but suddenly it was not possible any more.
Gruß
Sigurd
EDIT : Funny, now it works at least for the ACPI Devcon Thread..... Seems to be some kind of User Error :o
HI,
uh-ohh... my fault, I took the "wrong" links.
Nevertheless, it gets really fishy with being logged-in or not.
Okay, please try this:
- go to o2world.com
- make sure you are logged-out
- enter www.os2world.com/forum
- enter the string (e.g. "discuss ACPI" or "status of ecomstation") in the "search" box
=> this should work
Yes, the problem is that the bridge component seems to "spoil" something depending on being logged-in or not. We have quite a lot of threads that work... and suddenly, they are unaccessible.
In these cases, go to www.os2world.com/forum and try to search from there.
Hint:
The www.os2world.com/forum link should show the forum start page in full screen width (no whitespace/border at right and left margin). If this is the case it should then work.
Regards,
Thomas
