Title: IBM ThinkPad X20
Post by: zizban on 2009.10.24, 02:30:42
I got one of these second hand a few weeks ago and after tracking down a power adapter, fired it up. Windows 95. My eyes!  :o

I just finished ecom 1.2R on this puppy. Took some work because it doesn't like the sound card. It dislikes it so much it (sometimes) stops and barfs up code telling to me to contact my service representative. But in all, nice little machine.

Hi zizban

What audio/chipset is involved?

It could simply be a case of the uniaud drivers supplied with eCS1.2R are not capable of working with the chipset and a later build may.

Regards

Pete

It's a Sound Fusion CS46xx sound card

This one could be useful to you (but I wonder whether it wasn't already included in the eCS 1.2R CD):
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/system/drivers/sound/cwos2311.zip

From the readme:
"This file contains information on how to install the Crystal Semiconductor Corporation OS/2 audio device drivers for the SoundFusion(tm) PCI bus family of products (CS4614, CS4624 and CS4280)".

You should find the same driver version in this other package:
http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/system/drivers/sound/Crystal_3-11-0.zip
that was recently uploaded to hobbes (along with a bunch of other sound drivers: so you may want to search for yours there).
Good luck!

The ALSA-sound drivers of eCS should also do the job. At least they do on my PC with a soundcard with CS4614 chip.
