Title: Audio from Video
Post by: Ben on 2009.11.25, 14:51:11
Pardon my multimedia ignorance, but I have a few music videos here that I cannot get audio only for.

Does anyone know how to save an audio track from a video so that I can play it on an audio player?

Thanks.

You'd have to use a splitter like ProjectX (can't be sure if it can decode the files you are using) or ffmpeg/mplayer/Mencoder.

Mencoder command-line will be able to write the audio stream of the video to a seperate file. VLC GUI allows this directly, not sure if SMPlayer GUI allows this yet but its possible.

The command line documentation for Mencoder should be accessible by typing /? after it in the command prompt.

Failing that, send them on over to me and I'll do it for you here and send it back.
