Title: Help with unzip - unbelievable!
Post by: eilygre on 2010.02.14, 19:05:49
Hi.
After downloading SMplayer and trying to extract I got this message:

Archive:  I:/DOWNLOAD/SMPLAYER/SMPLAYER-0.6.8-BETA3.ZIP
End-of-central-directory signature not found.  Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive.  In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
unzip:  cannot find zipfile directory in I:/DOWNLOAD/SMPLAYER/SMPLAYER-0.6.8-BETA3.ZIP,
        and cannot find I:/DOWNLOAD/SMPLAYER/SMPLAYER-0.6.8-BETA3.ZIP.zip, period.

This is new to me. What have I to do?

it just means that you have not managed to fully download the file

Zip files keep the index at the end of the file, so if you only manage to download a part of the file the zip extractor will not see the index, hence this message
