I am unable to resolve this issue by myself, and suspect I'm missing something fundamental. I have been working on various permutations and settings for weeks with no change and no progress
I have a T43, latest OS/2, mpts configured for ethernet and wlan. The wlan works great at public hotspots. I never tried the ethernet. When I had broadband via DSL turned on to my home, I used my test HD w/ eCS 2.0rc4 to install and configure the combo modem/router (Actiontec Q1000) and was able to get both the ethernet and the wlan (wpa2) to work fine. But when I plug in my day to day OS/2 HD, the browser (SeaMonkey 2.0) says site not found (almost instantly) when ethernet is plugged in. When I turn on xwlan 3.10, it receives the signal, but then just sticks on configuring, never making the configuration. I have checked the profiles on both HDs, making sure I entered the PSK correctly. I take the T43 out to local hotspot (Barnes&Noble, library, etc) and it connects, no problem. I have played with manual configuration, a few other minor switches with no results. Is their a difference between how OS/2 and eCS handles a private network that either I'm not configuring for or that OS/2 simply can not do?
Thanks, Steve
Try tcpcfg2 (can start from OS/2 CMDLINE or find it's icon), enable DHCP and DDNS, save settings, leave the wired connection plugged in, and reboot.
Best,
Robert
Thanks, Robert. I was able to eventually to get that to work. Initially when I rebooted it I got a message that the DHCP client wasn't running. I spent several hours checking file lists, wondering if I had deleted or mistakenly moved a file, reconfigured mpts, etc. I don't know what I did, but it suddenly started working. Regards, Steve
