Hi All
I seem to have bumped into a strange problem with OO 3.1.1: I cannot create a Label or Business Card without OO 3.1.1 crashing.
I select File, New, Label (or Business Card) and OO 3.1.1 simply closes - no error messages, no soffice.log file generated in the OO programs directory, no entry in popuplog.os2.
The response from the eCS OO support team suggested using the QuickStart feature so I gave that a try. No Change in OO behaviour. I was also told "Please note that version 3.2 is upcoming that may resolve some problems too."
Nice to know that an OO update "is upcoming" but it does not solve the current Label/Business Card creation problem - and 3.2 may well have the same problem...
If anyone has any ideas on resolving the Label/Business Card problem I'm very interested :-)
Regards
Pete
Hi Pete,
I have personally no problems with crashes when creating labels, but I had crashes earlier when trying to use the extension manager. I got the advice to empty my oo-home directory and that in fact solved the problem. You can try it but of course you also loose eventual oo-settings that you've done.
Hi Melf
I have tried deleting %HOME%\OpenOffice.org directory which did not help.
I then tried uninstalling OO3.1.1 and deleting the (recreated) %HOME%\OpenOffice.org directory followed by Installation of OO3.1.1 - no, that did not help.
I guess I need to create templates for Labels and Business Cards using OO115 which I can then use in OO3.1.1
I'll haver to see if this problem is fixed in 3.2 - if that arrives *before* Software Subscription runs out.

Pete, about software subscription. My OO subscription went out in the beginning of june so I wrote to Mensys as I heard it should be a part of SSS in the future. That i so and their anwser was that I didn't have to renew it any more. That of course means you have to have SSS.
Hi Pete,
I'm just guessing here... have you changed the default printer or anything related to your printer settings?
Cheers,
Thomas
Hi Thomas
No.

Hi melf
I have eCS2.0GA "Home" which includes 6 months SSS.
Interestingly there does not seem to be anyway to access the "restricted to SS(S) eCS betazone"...
