I've a machine that is running eCS 1.2R very well, but I wanted to upgrade to eCS 2.0GA to keep everything current.
The primary boot is from C:, naturally - but I do keep a maintenance partition for booting on K:. My first choice was to do a migration from 1.2 to 2.0 on K: without success. I then attempted a full install (including a disk format) on the K: drive. It appears to fail on the built-in NIC (this wasn't defined on the 1.2 install).
I get get an error trying to determine the desktop mode(?). But, I don't know where to research this problem. The machine is still available because I haven't touched the C: drive.

Hi Gene
An alternative way to "migrate" required Desktop objects from current Desktop is to use wps2rexx - http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/util/wps/wps2rexx.zip - to make a rexx script backup of your Desktop and then only restore the required bits to the new Desktop. It does require a bit of fiddling with rexx to make sure that you do not overwrite new installed Desktop objects.
What is the builtin nic and how does the install fail?
Presumably "desktop mode" is screen resolution. What video driver are you using? - and what graphics card is involved?
Regards
Pete
Unfortunately I don't have the exact message in front of me just now, but I will reproduce it later today when I get home from work. I'll give a more detailed reply. I just thought someone may have run into this issue.

Did you open a support ticket on www.ecomstation.com/support.
Its that you posted to os2world.com but we (Mensys) do not read this forum every day.
