Just checking on ebay.

Microsoft OS/2 1.0-1.21 wasn't a retail product, it was strictly OEM...  1.3 was the 'retail' version since by that time, nobody wanted anything to do with 16bit OS/2..

If I recall, OS/2 retailed ~$300 while MS-DOS could be had for $50 and under.....

Correct. I have an OEM version from Fujitsu. Can look in previous forum posts to see an image of it.

I had a Compaq.. I recall it being rather... un-exciting.

You'd have thought that not only would a revolutionary product demand revolutionary packaging, but they wouldn't charge so damned much when compared to MS-DOS for it.
