Title: How Microsoft Bought China ?

"Some of them have the delusion that Windows is technically better than the competition. It never was. It isn't now. And, considering how Vista is staggering along, it never will be." I like this part.   ;D

That was in 2000. Fast-forward to 2007 and what do we find?

Fortune reports that Windows is used on as many as 90 percent of China's 120 million PCs, because of piracy and because Microsoft's own prices have dropped so low that a student can now buy a combination package of Windows and Office for $3.

That is my favorite part, hell if I could buy Windows and a copy of office for 3 dollars.. I would probably atleast own a copy of both.. lol.

Wait, on this pricing system.. OS/2 should sell for about .05  and linux should pay you to use it.

Well, Microsoft is quite good on adapting to changes, if someone wants to walk the linux path, they are fast to cut prices to keep the customer. If the customer still wants to go the linux path (or any other OS) they are fast to tell that you're not able to get proper support or help with linux. Seen this as an excuse over and over again here in Sweden. Swedish government has couple of times started commissions to see if they can at all make use of for example Open Office and linux and every time there is lame excuses for not even give it a try such as:

and the list goes own...

???Vista may be staggering along and XP Pro may be steady and ongoing in spite of Vista -as the release of x86-64 prompted many to reconsider changing their environment and moving upstream to Vista OS. Up it all is what I have to saw, since any MS code stinging along from upper slovenia has not been migrated into an environment friendly to home PC users once you remove the Aero-blitz, so as we move on we see Vista in decline hopefully, even as users hang on to XP. XP is not any better than Win2K and it still hangs and spits out all kinds of weirded out memory and other conflix overflows/loads, the GUI may be pretty but the code is rather ugly...even with itanium...OS2 dies and look what we get. I run Sun Solaris as an alternative to OS/2, just to stay away from Hackers...

? XP has given me no issues what-so-ever, even compared to 2k PRO which I was madly in love with. Vista64 has much better support for drivers/apps than XP64, and as such is a much more sensible upgrade to XP32 or 2kPro.
