Title: Censorship at os2worl.com
Post by: Sigurd on 2011.02.15, 17:54:45
Hi,

at least I wanted to reply to Rodericks new fairytale only because he is writing I am telling not the thruth -  but - guess what happens - the same as in 2009 when we had this discussion as well - it is not possbile for me to answer this thread. I asked that time for censorchip - and this time once again.

I do not need an answer though  ;)

But even though - as I said - I will leave it like that, there  is no more sence in it - there is no other picture then the deep pink one possible of Mensys - I must have missed the past six years and must be wrong!

At least the hint - there may be a way beside Mensys to keep OS/2 on track. But if not - it is OK as well.  ;)

Do you know other company interested in OS/2 Warp as Mensys BV? Mensys supports IBM OS/2 since 1993.
They formed the market, and were supporting developers of shareware and commercial programs since 90-th.
Remember famous Mensys catalogue of software for OS/2: http://forum.ecomstation.ru/viewtopic.php?p=8451#p8451

Personally I'm quite impressed with the direction that Mensys has taken and the development they've done, their achievements.  But Sigurd, my suggestion to you - if you're not happy then instead of complaining do something about it.  Is there a network card that's currently not supported that you'd like to see supported?  Great! Take some time and code a driver for it!  You'd like a different boot manager?  Great! Code one!  You'd like better ACPI?  Great!  Start spending time studying all the various versions of ACPI out there!

It would seem to me that this would be a more constructive and productive way to spend time.  But then that's just how I see it.

Sigurd,

please stop talking about censorship at os2world.com - expeciall if Eugene is around. :-P

No, serious:
If you can't reply to the thread then let me assure you that neither the OS2world.com staff nor Roderick or someone else has messed around to make you stop answering. The simple fact is (and for quite some time already was):

*** The forum is buggy! ***

To tell it short. The long story is a mix of Joomla, SMF and the SMF bridge component and... lalalala don't ask me questions. It is annoying. We know. We are in the way of changing this but it takes a looong time and efforts to get it done correctly and we simply don't have all skills and time at hand to be faster.

Again in short: Try here if this link works for you:
http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,3047.0.html

This should load the thread without the buggy "framing component" from Joomla/SMF.
Hope this helps,

Thomas

Sigurd

There have not been censorship to you. There is bug with Joomla and SMFForum bridge. When the threads get too many replies, the bug shows up in a random way.

Visit the forum thread directly:
http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,3047.0.html (http://www.os2world.com/forum/index.php/topic,3047.0.html)

If you want to access the forums directly go to os2world.com/forum and check for the thread there.. the bug does not show there.
