I have an older Asus EEE 701a pc. I tried installing eComStation 2.0 on it using an USB cd-rom drive. It got to a point where it kept asking to insert the installation disc even though it was already in the USB cd-rom drive. The USB cd-rom drive has been around for awhile. I currently have FreeDOS on it. IIRC; it has a 32 gig SSD with about 512 meg memory. Would another USB optical drive work or is this little computer too old for 2.0? ??? I thought it would be neat to try eCS on it. 8)
Hi BigWarpGuy
I think you need to read any "how tos" that may be available to see how others have managed to install to this device. I found this link that may help http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/doc/ecs-2-on-asus-eee-pc-internalssd-english-rev-1-1.zip

I have used WinXP from a cd for another computer. It ran for awhile on the EEE 701a but stopped after a certain period. I have to look for the WinXP cd. With the way my room is messy, I doubt I will find it. :(
It wouldbe neat to get eCS 2.0 on a flash drive or SD Card. I read some where that they were thinking of that as an option. It would be neat to run or install eCS 2.0 from a flash drive/SD Card. 8)
I bought a WinXP cd with code at a computer flea market. I also bought a DVD-ROM USB drive from Staples. I will be trying them both with the eCS 2.0 installation cd's. 8)
