Title: looking for help converting some old Describe documents
Post by: kapn on 2011.05.16, 17:38:49
I was an OS/2 user for many years and still miss it sometimes.

I have 3 or 4 DeScribe files that I would very much like to recover with the formatting at least somewhat intact. I have tried without success to get OS/2 running in a VM to install a copy of Describe I found in an online archive and export the data so I could have it back. I'm wondering if anyone out there would be willing (for the cost of a beer or two) to convert these files and send them back to me? Or suggestions for how I might convert them?

Thanks so much for taking the time to read my note. I hope that you can help me (or pass this on to someone who could help).

Hi Keith,

Since we use Describe here for all our wordprocessing and as long as your files don't extend to GBs :) then send them to me by e-mail (ivanjt at free dot fr) and I'll convert them for you.

Can do win word 6, rtf or postscript - I would think rtf would be best for portability.
