The new NIST atlas of special functions has an online component that requires either VRML or X3D working with your browser. I don't know if that means plugin or helper -- they don't specify it where I looked.
Is there any chance of getting something ported to use with some version of Firefox that would meet NIST's requirements of either VRML or X3D ?
If I were to pay for a port, is there a ball-park figure for the cost?
I originally planned to sponsor a bounty, but the lack of response to my SAGE bounty and the reluctance of the admin here to have unlikely bounties multiplying endlessly has led me to this attempt.
All responses appreciated: any kind will tell me something I don't know.
Hi Phil
Do you know any open source project that provides what you are looking for on other platform?
What is the NIST Atlas page that you need to see, can you post the URL?
Hi
I suspect Phil may be interested in a port of OpenVRML http://www.openvrml.org/
Of course, the problem Phil may have is finding someone with both skillset and time to do the port...
Maybe he should contact Paul Smedley and ask if he will have time sometime soon. I suggest using the "Contact us" form on Pauls website http://os2ports.smedley.info/index.php?page=contact-us
Regards
Pete

The lack of OpenGL makes a port impossible.... let alone my total lack of free time right now...

Apparently, X3D suffers from the same problem: http://www.web3d.org/ .
