Title: Canon PIXMA MP 530
Post by: cfields on 2007.08.26, 18:16:17
Anyone have the latest eCs printing to a Canon PixMA MP530?  Wondering if the Omni - 530/560/590 driver will work for printing...
My i560 power supply burnt out...  need a new (cheap) printer.

Hi

I suspect you may have more of a chance of getting this device printing using 1 of the OMNI i560/i850/i950 drivers.

I think I would start with the i950 and work backwards if that fails.

Regards

Pete

Hi
I have a Canon PIXMA USB installed on my old (2002) notebook. I used the Omni.drv i950 that comes with eCS. Once I figured out that USB devices can't be plugged into any USB port on my antique notebook--they must be plugged in sequentially, 1, 2, 3--the printer workid just fine.

Should work with CUPS - http://svn.netlabs.org/ecups/wiki/CupsPort - a little tricky to get things printing from OS/2 apps - but we're working on addressing those problems...
