Title: Most but not eComStation?
Post by: BigWarpGuy on 2007.09.27, 01:09:36
OpenOffice bug hits multiple operating systems http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6209919.html?tag=nl.e550 (http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6209919.html?tag=nl.e550)
"
Security experts have discovered vulnerabilities in OpenOffice.org that could allow attackers to remotely execute code on Linux, Windows or Apple Mac-based computers. " I noticed that eComStation is not listed. Does this mean eCS is not affected by it?  ???

Id venture it it probably is, but they just ignored eCS or just forgot about it  ::)

I would theorize that even if the bug affected the OS/2 version, the difference would be an exploited TIFF would need to include code that OS/2 would execute (and OS/2 is likely not going to be targetted). In addition, the memory models and handling methods of the operating systems are quite different, so it might be a moot point anyway.

Wish I had one to try...
