Title: usb drivers & usb 2 card
Post by: os2monkey on 2007.10.18, 23:01:48
I'm just curious if I installed the usb drivers correctly.
I have a usb 2.0 pci card that supports ehci/ohci, and it has 3 ports. So when installing ecs I should have installed 3 ehci controllers and 3 ohci controllers?

Thanks,
David Kiley

Hi David

No you have not got that right.

Download and install http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/os2/system/usbcfgb7a.zip

When it is installed run it.

On the 1st page the top section will tell you how many Controllers of what type are available on the system. The bottom of the page shows whatever you have setup in the config.sys file regarding those controllers.

Copy the values for each Controller from the top section to the correct entrybox in the bottom section, exit and reboot to activate.

Note: The number of USB Ports on a system has nothing to do with the number of Controllers of whatever type required by the system - my system has 10 ports but only 1 EHCI and 1 OHCI Controller.

Regards

Pete

Thanks Pete! I'm glad I asked :).
I'll try that program out - it sounds like just what I needed.
