Got this little link to a blog (http://whdb.com/2008/the-top-50-proprietary-programs-that-drive-you-crazy-and-their-open-source-alternatives/) that lists 50 different Windows applications and as well suggest a open source equal on the Linux side; guess that a few of them could be an interesting future bounty projects.
Pidgin (open Source Instant Messaging tool) will be an interesting asset to be ported to OS/2-eCS.
Just as a comment. I'm amazed on how the open source software development continue to grow. I always like to check this kind of articles and I always found something new.
oh. Just notice that Pidgin uses the GTK+ Libraries.
So first the GTK+ port (http://www.os2world.com/content/view/14952/71/) need to be completed to port this one. A GTK+ port will open the doors for many other OS/2-eCS ports.
