Well, the everex cloudbook is a ultra small laptop employing the VIA chipsets, and makes use of the Via Chrome for graphics chipset. I just found out that VIA Chrome is an open source platform for graphics drivers!

Is it conceivable that there could be a hardware accelerated (WarpOverlay, etc) driver for the Via Chrome chipset based upon this? It might make the cloudbook more attractive over the EEE pc, at least in my eyes :)
Hi
I do not have an eCS Software Subscription myself but suspect the Panorama driver may work with this video chipset better than the SNAP VBE driver.
Maybe you should contact the Panorama developers http://en.ecomstation.ru/projects/panorama/ and check that - no point in asking the SNAP developer (Scitech) anymore...

Pete
VIA Chrome chipset works fine with SciTech drivers on the VIA mini boards that I bought about 12-18 months ago, I use them for both my main servers. The mini boards also came with OS/2 Network drivers which was a surprise. Can't speak for more recent VIA Chrome chipsets though.

Ahh, okay. I was not sure about the support of the VIA chipset, specifially the new Chrome used in the Everex Cloudbook. This was more or less a question about if a true hardware accelerated driver could be build for the VIA chipsets off of the information on that page. For my curiosity really, although I would consider getting a cloudbook if I could afford it.

It is good to know that eCS has the potential to run on the Everex Cloudbook.

It seems it is about the same price I paid for the Asus EEE PC at $399(USD).
