Same, the auto-update thing was something my roomate and I discussed heavily, as well as improving the GUI of the pre-install screens. I have not gotten my registration confirmation email back yet, but I am waiting, I've got ideas :)

The same happened to me some time ago. No account activation. I asked what was happening and I got no response. Since then, I do not try their forums, I only check the contents time by time.

As far as a perfect eCS is considered, here is my list of most critical "todo":
- Installation from USB devices. Every doorhandle is USB nowadays, nevertheless, eCS is still unable to install from an USB device. More precisely, sometimes it is possible using tricks, sometimes it isn't possible at all.
- Patching diskettes. You can pass new drivers to the installer but only if your machine has a diskette and only if the diskette is ATAPI. Diskettes are rare beasts today, they can be seen only in dark, long time uncleansed locations of your home. Diskete drives are vanishing as well. If you meet some, they usually are USB. eCS needs to switch from the diskettes to some more recent medium.
- Fonts
- OpenGL
- splitting operating system and user applications. eCS resembles a badly configured DOS today. Its CONFIG.SYS is overloaded by application data (directories on LIBPATH, PATH, DPATH, HELP, etc., user defined environment variables and so on). Application data should not be in CONFIG.SYS, they should be local to the app. Therefore, new pages in the Settings dialog for program objects, which allow you to set local variables specific to the app, BEGINLIBPATH, similar "BEGINPATH", "BEGINDPATH", etc. When the app starts, its environment is constructed from the local environment taken from the Settings and the CONFIG.SYS. cONFIG SYS contains only system related and shared data.

Well,  regarding the "Full multilanguage" this is vital to get in on some markets; problem is that it seems that there is no interest of getting translations done. I know that Björn Söderström has during the last couple of years offered to translate eCS into Swedish and so far, if I don't remember wrong, there hasn't even been created the proper entries for him to add Swedish translations into the CVS. I think that Björn has dropped the whole idea of translating it into Swedish for now.
