Well, here is an odd behaviour when installing trying to install eCS v2.0 RC4 on a test system that usually installs without any issues; only change that I made was that I changed the DVD-Rom (Pioneer A06) to a CD-Rom (LiteOn LTN-526). During boot of the system it halts on the ACPI-drivers and just stays there; totally dead no response. The LiteOn CD-Rom goes couple of years back and never made any updates or so; but found that there is a firmware update available from January 20th, 2005 07:13 that might make some kind of difference; I haven't tried but I will. I've attached the firmware for the LiteOn LTN-526 to this posting as well.
Posting this due to that I've had similar experience with the ThinkPad T60, not saying it's the same; but in both cases with the above mentioned system and the T60 I'm able to boot the installations CD and then from that I don't get any further... With the T60 I solved it to boot from USB based CD-Rom unit instead and from there everything works fine.
So if you have similar findings as above; try to either replace the CD/DVD-Rom to another unit and/or boot the CD from USB.
