Hi suchithra,

I don't know about native testing tools for OS/2. There is a lot of tools of course being ported from *nix or which are platform-independant (java). Basically, as always with testing, it depends on
- the programming language / environment used for development
- what phase of testing you are referring to (unit, system, integration, UAT, stress/perf., ...)
- the "nature" of the application (server-side app, fat client, ...)
- if you are talking about automated testing / manual testing

Can you give some more details?

Cheers,
Thomas

Please find the details below

Programming Language – Win32 API programming, C programming.
Environment               - OS2
Application                 - Fat client and Server side
Testing                      - Automation
Phase of Testing          - Integration

I'm having trouble understanding what you mean by "Win32" API in the context of an OS/2 program.

As far as your original question, I've used two tools for testing OS/2 programs.

1. Theseus -- finds memory leaks. If you want long term stability of your OS/2 program, this is the tool to use.
2. PMATE -- PM Automated Test Environment. You record your mouse and keyboard with this, and replay it when you want to run your test. In combination with Theseus, this will give good coverage for your program.

Hello,

If you mean the Win32API related Open32API and documentation as well as other programming (C/C++) related stuff I would recommend you to get a copy of the operating system eComStation (http://www.eComStation.com), the compiler OpenWatcom (http://www.OpenWatcom.com) or gcc (http://www.netlabs.org).
You can find the toolkit (4.52) on the eComStation CD and possibly at hobbes (http://hobbes.nmsu.edu)

==========

Excuse me Suchithra for breaking in this tread... but Blonde Guy mentioned something that interest me as a software tester.

Who has written it (PMATE)?
Where can I find a copy?
Any chanse one can get the source code?
REXX scripting support would be great, is it awailable. :)

Testing                      - Automation
Phase of Testing          - Integration

ahhh... okay.
Let's check if we match on expectation and understanding:
Integration testing is rather in matters of end-to-end (or inter-system) testing and "operational" criteria than functional testing (like for example system test) - you agree? I suppose also UAT is out of scope here?

--> Then perhaps Fitnesse is for you?

The only place PMate can be found is here.  Scroll down the page till you find it.  However, one must subscribe (pay a small yearly fee) to have access to its data base.
