Anyone got this usb smart card reader to work ?
Resource manager finds it and lists it as 076b:3021 (high speed 2.0).

Hi Raiko
Sounds like you are having problems with using this device.
Never tried 1 myself but wonder if it come with extra drivers for Windows? If it does then it probably will not work with any OS that the extra drivers are not available for.
Looking at the model data available here http://www.hidglobal.com/technology.php?tech_cat=19&subcat_id=10&headerType=1 I would guess that it will not work with eCS (OS/2) - but I'm happy to be proven wrong.
What happens when you attach the device? - Does the Removable USB drive monitor let you know it is attached?
What size card are you using in the device? - anything over 2Gb needs to be made into an LVM volume before it can be used.
Regards
Pete

You might be able to get it to work with the usbecd.sys driver (it is at HOBBES), and a lot of work. Usbecd.sys will get most USB devices mounted, and it offers some basic commands that can be used to "talk" to the driver, However, it is all raw data, and you would need to figure out how to make it do what you want it to do. There are instructions in the driver package.

Hi Raiko,
if I was really in need for that, I'd try to port the Linux CCID package found here:
http://pcsclite.alioth.debian.org/ccid.html

Here's another one that may be relevant, with some of the supporting technologies (Python) already ported to OS/2:

Thank you all for the suggestions.
I use this card reader for identification purposes when logging into the web site
of IRS/taxation department, plus some other sites. (The card itself is just like a credit
card with a chip.)
I have other ways of logging into these sites so it's not something I must have now.
Since these readers a very cheap I could just buy another brand if there exists one
that will work with OS/2 or eCS.
Pls let me know if anyone knows about one.
