Really cool ad! Makes me happy ;D
....but it is strange that we yet can't download it.
Whot! I just emailed the Blond Guy some questions and hope to make my order today!
SOOOOO excited to get my copy!
And yes...the ad is nice, very professional!
OS News (http://www.osnews.com/story/23337/eComStation_2_0_Released) posted the news too. Check it out.
I sent an email last night asking about the download and I received an email with the download info.
Now I am about to start the install !!!
The install of the OS went well. Open Office installed just fine too.
On Disk 2 the smart guide would not start and many of the installs would not start. It seems like it might be something like GCC library or something. Has anyone had this problem?
I was able to mount and copy data from a Windows Vista machine now which I was not able to do before.

Same thing happen to me, but I used Paul Ratcliffe's ISOFS V1.0.3 to mount the image: http://home.clara.net/orac/os2.htm#isofs
Then the install program worked, this way you don't have to burn the 2nd and 3rd CD
Well, well,
the biggest uncertainty I'm facing now (and probably lots of other users) is that:
1) I have absolutely no idea how I will get the links and registration: email? my Mensys account? on eComstation.com pages as a software download?
2) I had a Software Subscription but that expired, but now I have my doubts whether I'm still eligible for 2.0 copy,
3) eCS 2.0 GA has been officially released, but I did not receive anything (even on my email) yet, nor have I seen any updates on any pages I would expect to show the download info.
...so regarding the above stated, I'm growing nervous a bit.
Any comments??

My Software Subscription expired too, but received my download link and info from Mensys. So, I'm pretty sure that you are still eligible. Email Mensys with your info and hopefully you will get your download info the next day like I did.
I, like StefanZ, am getting nervous and disgusted! I have an active SSS, am on the "test team" also E-Mailed Roderick at Mensys asking for help but --- no response & no links and registration key. I think its "unbelievably outstanding" the work they've done creating eCS 2.0, but I've also never been involved with a group that had poorer communications and concern with the group of people that supported them and help them get where they are today.

Yes, it appears that I will not be getting mine any time soon either despite having purchased a SSS license back in 2006 (which is a long time ago for me).
Awaiting my download so I can test on my netbook again.
Latest update:
I wrote to info@mensys.nl and asked about the details, included brief description, my name+login name and got a reply within a couple of hours :)
So, lets get started :)
Thank you, Mensys support (and Joachim).
I think this is crazy. I also have an active software subscription since ecs 1.2. Are we supposed to write personal mails to get download links? I can't f-n (sorry for the f-word) understand why they do not put some information on their homepage.
Hi All
I think we simply have to wait for eCS/Mensys to go through their records regarding Software Subscription and then email Reg Key and download instructions to those of us entitled to the 2.0GA
I must admit to not being in a great rush - I have the RC6a installation working just about right - but will be concerned if I have not heard anything by the weekend.
I must agree that it would be useful if eCS put some information about this on a webpage somewhere though.
Regards
Pete
Hi!
May be they started to handle manually registration before an automated process could take place !
RD
Well, today there is in fact a message on ecomstation.com answering our questions:
Q:As a Software Subscription Services customer, when will I receive the GA version of eComStation 2.0?
A: eComStation 2.0 GA is available for download since may 21st. You will receive an email with a new installation key and download access information. These emails are being sent by Mensys right now, however the process takes a while to complete. Thank you for your patience and continued support.
like why bother? OS2 is dead, hardly anyone uses it so why bother blowing your dough on eComm junk, it never works v. well... right? In case you have not heard CHROME will blow MS away so all you fake OS2 users that pretend your ISP lets you log on when you really use TwindoZe can just, that's right, keep blowing smoke! ???
HAH! ChromeOS is a sad, sad joke. Android has more power/market.

Not sure what the negativity is about... but in our office, only one machine is Windows... the rest are OS/2 or eComStation, and all log in to our ISP without problems. When we have ISP issues (connection down, etc) and call for support, the techs seem actually happy we are running OS/2, as we can help the diagnose the issues without having to go through the list of Windows-only issues (mangled TCP implementation (by a virus, malware, whatever), hosed forced update that damaged something, or whatever). Instead, they are quite thrilled that I can just jump on, do traceroutes, flush the routing tables, or do whatever without me needing to "scan for this" or "check for this" or "does another Windows machine do it to - or is it possible that one is infected and thus does not have access to the Internet"
YMMV, but my ISP has never had a problem with us running OS/2.
On top of that, most ISPs wouldnt really know or care - since most people connect via a NAT device (ie: wireless router connected to a cable/dsl modem) - which OS/2 works fine with.
Anyway, one can see that, for quite some time, our ISP hasnt cared in the least (and we've had absolutely no issues connecting) that we run OS/2:

me "hates it" when that happens :P
It's been a long time since Netcraft have accurately reported my websites as OS/2, I asked them
about it years ago but nothings happened, I can only assume there checking gets confused by
Injoy firewall.

This is what the server really is :-

The only Windows here is on a VPC to help my family over the phone, everything else is OSX (wife) or AIX.
Cheers
PS, comkal.net is the actual server and the report on that you can see were it use to report OS/2 as
part of the Apache bit, but even back then it reported an unknown OS, so I think it must have been around
2000-2001 that it reported the OS as OS/2.
