Since it comes with a blue ray/dvd combo drive and no operating system, should installing eCS be - relatively - easy? ??? For a netop without an OS, it seems on the high side for $530 (USD). :o

i really wonder about your posts more and more. are those really worth the typing you do?
if you want to contribute, they buy such a device try to install and report back.
just my 2 cents
It is not often that I post to the forum at OS/2 World. I have eComStation 2.0 but have not installed it on any computers (yet?). I have parts (years old) for a mini-itx computer but have not assembled anything yet. It is very rare (if not none at all) that I encounter any one around here that even know what OS/2 or eCS is. Once I get eCS 2.0 running on at least one computer of mine, I will return to OS/2 World.
With inflation today, one's '2 cents worth' probabl cost '5 cents' now. ;D
If I had the funds, I would buy some computers to see if one can install OS/2 or eCS onto them but I don't. I just wanted opinions if it was possible.
I have been watching ReactOS. It seems like a promising operating system.

Actually I find posts by BigWarpGuy quite interesting. Interesting enough to open links he's attaching. AND his questions are quite substancial - If eCS can be installed on such devices. So It's up to us if we want to respond - basing on our hardware knowledge - whether it can be installed or not. No less, no more.
So BigWarpGuy - keep sending your posts - there is at least ONE FOOL to READ THEM ;) (well, ME ;) )
cheers
I also read them.
Hi All
I'm also happy reading BigWarpGuy's questions about various bits of hardware - I probably would not notice the existence of some of the hardware otherwise.
I just wish he would define the term he uses "relatively - easy" when asking if eCS can be installed to it.
The answer could be "yes" if the person trying the install has a real understanding of the hardware involved and "workarounds" for installing eCS but for other users with less knowledge the answer is probably "no".
Anyway, Keep posting the questions BigWarpGuy :-)
With regard to ReactOS: Seems it has been around for a long time in "alpha". I have not tried any recent builds but plan on trying the latest in VirtualPC when I get some spare time. Previous builds all failed to install.
