I was running SMP-safe UCONV in my W4 kernel machine (uniprocessor) and everything was going fine... until I discovered ScummVM not being able to run anymore, crashing on UCONV.DLL:

Anyone had better results? Are this new UCONV supposed to run only on multiprocessor machines with SMP kernel?

UCONV.DLL 0001:000000c9

Hi
I installed this new uconv.dll on a system using smp14.104a and acpi 2.22, rebooted.
When the Desktop had loaded I tried to start Seamonkey - which failed to start. After several attempts, including using a cmd line to capture errors to a log - no errors - and ascertain if there was suddenly a missing DLL file causing the problem, I thought of looking in popuplog.os2
A lot of entries there about uconv.dll when trying to start Seamonkey.
Reverting to the original resolved that problem.
So, maybe this new uconv.dll file is meant to work on smp kernels but my experience is that it does not - and the developers do not seem very interested.
I sent an email about this problem on 13/01/2008 but no reply to date.
Regards
Pete

I don't know who you sent that E-Mail. Generally it's better to file a bug at the Bugtracker eComStation.com and if it's ACPI related at http://svn.netlabs.org/acpi/report .
