Title: SATA DVD burner drive
Post by: george on 2007.05.15, 17:09:22

SATA DVD drives with SATA data interfaces instead of IDE are become pretty common. Lite-On, Sony, NEC, Pioneer, Samsung and even ASUS now sell SATA DVD burners.

Anybody use SATA DVD burner drive with eComStation or OS/2?

I know Daniela's S506 ADD driver supports SATA HDD but does it support SATA DVD drives?

Also how about RSJ, can RSJ work with SATA DVD drive?

thanks

HP and Dell are now shipping machines with SATA DVD drives. Will we be able to install eComStation?

THE LATEST ESTIMATES out of Taiwan suggest that S-ATA DVD drives will be more popular than standard ATA ones before the year is out.

That's down to the fact that big boys like Dell and HP are starting to ship all their new Vista systems with S-ATA optical drives.

I'm using an Asus Sata DVD burner with eComStation.  Don't think I've tried it with RSJ - but it works with cdrecord and dvddao, so I don't see why it wouldn't work with RSJ.
