Error in PREIN scriplet in rpm package libqt4-4.7.3-1.i386
error:  %pre(libqt4-4.3.7-1.i386) scriplet failed, exit status 127
error:    install: %pre scriplet failed (2), skipping libqt4-4.7.3-1

failed:
libqt4.i386 0:4.7.3-1

Applications / Re: FrostWire now works!
2011.12.03, 00:08:21
Two things that are different, Pete from the way you are running Frostwire, compared to how its working for me are:
You're running a newer version of Java, I'm running plain old 1.6.0-ga. This surely is not a problem! But the older version of Frostwire (5.2.9) which I am using, might have something to do with how it preforms. I also got neumeros errors doing the install, but it did install and downloads and seeds correctly.
I'm not going to be able to mess with this anymore until Monday, but then I'll download and install the newer version of Frostwire and see if it works for me.
BTW, you mentioned you got a successful install using java.exe rather than javaw.exe -- were you then able to download & seed?

Hi Pete, How're you doing?

I copied the frostwire-5.2.9.noarch directory in e:\programs\frostwire-5.2.9-noarch.
then created a program object with the following info:
Path and Filename =e:\java6\bin\java.exe
Parameters:-jar frostwire.jar
Working Directory:e:\programs\frostwire-5.2.9.noarch

and it loads and runs without problems!  (btw, you do need java6)

FWIW! FrostWire (Peer to Peer File sharing) now works with Java6 using eCS. Download the .jar from the Frostwire site (frostwire-5.2.9.noarch).

Hardware / Re: 1 tb Hard Drive problem
2011.10.22, 16:31:15
Hey Rob, I think you're second idea is the one that will "bail me out", with the exception of several 4+ gb .iso files I want to transplant (guess i'll have to re-download them! ).

thanks again,  klipp

Hardware / 1 tb Hard Drive problem
2011.10.21, 20:34:13
Ineed to move many files larger than 2gb from a 1/2 tb drive to a 1 tb drive to make more available space on the smaller hard drive. I've tried copying using the different available file managers and they all "crap out" when approaching 2 gb. Is there hopefully a way of doing this that I don't know about? The 1 tb hard drive is partitioned with 3, 200gb fat 32 partitions.
thanks for any help with this problem

hey Pete, thanks for that post! That explains some of the same problems I've been having with AirBoot, which I didn't know how to cope with.

Hey ivan, DANIS506.add has !BIOS parameter, I tried removing it and it also made no difference. Guess for now its not all that important, I can get by with leaving a CD in the drive.  Thanks for all you're efforts, sooner or later someone will stumble across a solution!

Hi ivan, mine also are set to IDE, the speed is set to auto. The H.D. is on SATA1 and the DVD is on SATA5
On SATA5 the type is CDROM with PIO Mode set to 4 and DMA MODE set to MWDMA2

Hope you got some sleep

Yes ivan, I set it just like you said (see the post above), but that changed nothing! The CDROM works fine with either of the settings, it works for install of windows, linux, & eCS! Its just that after eCS is installed it will no longer boot up without a CD or DVD sitting in the DVD. Windows & Linux boot fine with an empty DVD, but if you boot eCS it will "hang" unless there is a CD or DVD in the DVD.

Thanks  klipp

A little more info on this topic! Turns out you don't need specifically the ECS boot disk in the DVD for eCS to boot, any CD or DVD in the drive will allow eCS to continue booting!

I have it plugged like you described now, ivan --- "but still no cigar!" It still Hangs during boot unless the boot CD is in the DVD Drive. I'll do some more "digging" today and will let you know if I make any progress.

I'm finally back ivan, My CDRom is plugged into SATA2 its a [TSSTcorp CDDVDW SH]  --   (Samsung SH-S223C/MIDF SATA DVD Writer)!
The only options are PIO MODE: AUTO,0,1,2,3,4
                                DMA MODE: AUTO,SWDMA0,1,2 MWDMA0,1,2 and UDMA0,1,2,3,4,5
They are both set to AUTO
I tried changing them to PIO = 4 and DMA =MWDMA2 --- it says ultra DMA is not supported
This didn't change things it still hangs.
The On-Board LAN works fine as installed by eCS 2.1

I've noticed another problem that might be revelent, After installing and having all the problems, I plugged in an IDE 30gb hard drive and tried to make booting possible from the IDE drive. Windoz & Linux can see this additional drive but eCS can't. I wonder if I need an additional driver (BASEDEV ?) installed in my Config.sys? I guess I'll compare drivers with other boxes with only IDE drives installed.

Thanks,  klipp

Hey, Thanks ivan! The whole dammned BIOS looks pretty strange to me, but I'm slowly getting it figured out.
Really appreciate the help.
