Last year it said :

The source code provided to RexxLA was maintained by one group of IBM developers. The source code for OS/2 is maintained by a different group of IBM developers, and that source code base was not supplied to RexxLA. One of the future tasks for this project is to port the Open Source code for ooRexx to OS/2.

Now it says just:

The source code provided to RexxLA was maintained by one group of IBM developers. The source code for OS/2 is maintained by a different group of IBM developers, and that source code base was not supplied to RexxLA.

  I was going to try installing an old multimedia I/O service called 'Wavemix' I found that was created by Team MMOS/2 Tokyo.

If it's important, send the readme to me and I'll take a look.

COULD I [try/use] this code in REXX as is w/o copyright, cut and paste?  thx ZIRCON

Go ahead.

Too bad it must be compiled - in Rexx it would be fairly trivial...

/* or from a text based INI file.*/

then searchstring = readinifile( inifile )
if searchstring = "" then call nosearchstring

/* find the EOF */
call stream logfile , "C" , "CLOSE"
data = charin( logfile , 1 , chars( logfile ))
call stream logfile , "C" , "CLOSE"

/* look backwards one char at a time until a matched set of chars is found*/
lp = lastpos( searchstring , data )
if lp = 0 then call search_string_doesnt_exist searchstring
else lp = lp - 1

/* copy from that point to EOF */
parse var data . +(lp) keepdata

/* to a separate TXT file */
call lineout writefile , ""
call lineout writefile , "*******  -- DIVIDER -- *******"

The original report by the person who noticed that Safari used an undocumented API is here:

http://blog.vlad1.com/2008/02/28/finding-the-os-x-turbo-button/

The page also includes a comment by a member of the WebKit team. (Safari uses an open source web browser engine called WebKit.)

Everything on the T40 was fully supported under OS/2 - sound, video and modem included. However, some drivers were not included in OS/2 4.52, but had to be downloaded from the IBM website. Perhaps they are also available from Serenity Systems.

Its default configuration includes no internal wireless network card.
