Could a developer port this tool to eCS and put into a friendly installable package ?

http://www.os2site.com/sw/graphics/misc/diab085.zip

it's quite old and requires X

Good luck

I know it is stated that Flash10 will work only on eCS 1.2 or up, but anyone knows what
prevents it from running on OS/2 4.52 with latest fixes?
Marketing decision. Development costs money.
Perhaps Mensys makes the final version available to other users too, where upgrading ecs 1.1
to 1.2 or 2.0 makes no sense, like in my case on my old but gold t23 hardware.
I would appreciate this and would be willing to spend some money for flash 10.

I certainly would not use ntfs.ifs to access any "Windows data" - unless someone has recently written a new driver that actually works and is prepared to rectify any damage that use of said driver may cause (usually the readme or other doc will offer a Disclaimer).

I'll wait until these apps are "grown up" and capable of finding the current boot drive with the \PSFONTS directory - or not.
...

Or take a HEX-editor, and change C:\PSFONTS\ in QtGui4.dll to something more accurate for your system ...

Let's hope that Paul Smedley or someone else can come up with a solution to what might be the problem.

I sent you a new compiled version of word2dawg attached in a mail.
This version worked here (I couldn't check the output, but at least it doesn't crash anymore and it produces a file)
Did you miss my mail?

best regards

Applications / Re: Gimp/Xsane

Please try to follow the readme step by step.
Maybe I have forgotten something, but you should at least not have gotten this GOBJECT2
message if you followed the steps. GOBJECT2.DLL is part of the prerequisites
of gimp-2.2.8 (glib-2.6.5.zip in this case) which you need to install to get things going.
It's mentioned in the readme that comes with gimp-2.2.8.
Sorry that it's quite some work. to get all the files installed.
Unfortunately also the links for the files don't work anymore because
hobbes has changed the layout. You have to search for the files first
to get working links. (You could also use FTP for hobbes)
I hope you succeed at the end. Don't hesitate to ask, if you get
further problems
Good luck

Setup & Installation / Re: Printer trouble

> does this driver correctly list 3 trays and chooses the one you specify?
I don't know, never tried, I always print from default tray.
I can chose between single-side/duplex

> Also, what output port are you using? (I use lpd)
I also print over network. I use slpr (newer version of lpd) (or NetWare-Queue)

Suggestion:

I've the same printer and just use LASERJET.HP LaserJet 4Si  (30.827) to print.

I don't know, not from me, sorry.
Compiling speex was easy and it was more a sideeffect. A patched version of speex
is handy here for playing calls of an answering machine implemented in the newest firmware
of a DSL-Router sold here in Germany (Fritz!Box 7170 from AVM).
Details are described here: http://www.ip-phone-forum.de/showthread.php?t=156186
( german language only ).
This was the reason why I tried to compile this lib/application. Voip was not my intention.
But perhaps someone else can use this lib for such a task.

Of course I had a short look at the voip apps mentioned on the speex homepage, but these
seem to be all very fat ones and nothing easy to compile for OS/2.

BTW (nothing to do with speex): Perhaps someone can port  gphone
( http://gphone.sourceforge.net/ ) or at least one lib it needs ( librtp-0.1.tar.gz )

I tried, but configure (for librtp) fails with nasty errors. The other lib mentioned
( gsm-1.0.12.tar.gz ) compiles nicely.

which vesion of gcc are you using? As far as I know the latest 3.3.5 versions won't work for X11 applications, you have to use 3.0.3 or 3.2.1
At least this is my experience when compiling XSane to OS/2.
