Have you tried yEd?

http://www.yworks.com/en/products_yed_about.html

It is a java application and it can even run in a browser online, but it needs java 1.6, but this will be also solved in the near future.

Storage / Re: ext2 driver in eCS
2010.12.01, 21:45:22
I have installed Puppy Linux on one partition and it works out of the box with JFS partitions, no problem mounting and writing file to it and it all works great.

(Puppy linux is a special build from Ubuntu and tailored to be small and fast and very low on resources, great for old machines)

The only thing I have found is to have a VM with linux installed that reads the disk and share this to the windows host, that way one can read JFS partitions from Windows. But I did not try it yet.

Thanks for info.

Since the driver is so old, was there never any need/interest to do some new version?
One driver that is for windows is open source...
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2fsd/

Is there any other possibility for sharing files from win/eCS/linux other than FAT32?

the main problem for me is that even in windows for opening certain directories with large amount of files it takes 1-2 seconds.
So I was thinking about alternatives and ext2 would determinately be better.

Storage / ext2 driver in eCS

Does ext2 driver from hobbes(dates 1997) work with eCS, have tried but failed, stops on booting, does something has to be changed in order for driver to work?

In general you can archive it and use torrent to share the file with others, but I did not yet do this thing on OS/2

Also, I don't think I am finding the source. It does not appear to be in ftp.netlabs.org/pub/xworkplace

Try here ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/snapshots/

I have tried Tuniac and I like it, I occasionally play music on some dances, of course with OS/2 I use PM123.

A media library would be very helpfull, but I would also ad a field for BPM(Beats per minute),
I have been googling and have found some useful open source tools that have a BPM counter, that could be used(ported) in OS/2(they use QT3 or QT4), here is a quick list:

http://djplay.sourceforge.net/

Storage / Re: NTFS 3g Project

I think it could be useful to have a read/write IFS driver for NTFS and we all know that, but still somebody will have to do it and I presume that all the people that have the knowledge are currently occupied otherwise(eCS 2.0)

As I could see this project seems to be good cadidate, but I am no expert, how hard it would be to make it work as IFS driver.

An update to my testing.

The download is working fine, guess it was just some "slow" torrents, or problematical trackers.

I have an IBM Thinkpad Z60m 1GB RAM 2GHz processor intel Pentium,

I have a hardware router connected to ADSL 1024/256, with UPnP enabled and no other machine on the router.
Broadcom integrated NIC with Broadcom driver 9.07 I believe.

I know this is the test version, so I am testing it. :)
And I hope the results of the tests could be useful.

Hello magog,

I have been further investigating...

The thing with whole screen gray happens with all look&feels, just the color is different.

As for directory listings, there is no rule aparent, some drives will not list some directories with 3 letters, but directory with 8 will etc.

If I enter "*" in the filename box all is working fine. Its with open torrent, add file.

Another thing I get almost no download, with the same torrent that is downloading in win OK, the port seems to be OK.

Hello magog,

I have just installed your azureus4eCS package and so far I can tell it works OK.

Is there anything you like me to test?

I have installed intermediate version, else I have followed your guide.

I guess I was a little to quick.

I have observed following things:
- when I go with mouse pointer over the face in front of a torrent listed, the entire screen goes gray, when I click somewhere on "desktop" all is normal again
- When I try to add a file the directories/files list is not working with all the directories, can change but do not see the contens of the directory

Thanks for all the work.

Regards
