Could someone tell me the name of the dos utility which allows
running old dos programs? I think it starts with a V. Thanks Ben

Finally got an install! Gave up in the two old IDE disks and installed two SATAS.
One new and one 0ld wiped. This allowed a new install. FYI the WINXP computer
had one parameter changed in set up. Almost had to be a spike that shifted
some bits.
None of the ECS system left - sigh and rebuild...
Thanks to all who helped, Ben

Thanks to all!  system is ECS 2.1. board is N68S+ biostar (Not my favorite, ran but 9 months).
memory is 2 meg. AMD dual core. Another system (winxp) also went down - all but the C: drive,
which is hurt. I am in a industrial area, Big spike? The setup disks won,t touch either system
I know about DFSEE, BUT NO JOY..

I hope this is in the correct area. Had a massive crash. attempt to reload ECS, it will not install.
After unpluging all but a new 2T sata drive I can get to a maintence desktop. BUT none of the
disc functions will work, so ecs will not install. all of the old  stop after 3 lines of CD install with
(approx) cannot read your cd drive. Is a 2T drive too big, or? Thanks Ben
