If I may make a shameless, but still on-topic, plug for a book I found in my collection:

Microsoft LAN Manager 2 programming guide from Microsoft Press
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270230120018

Hopefully it will find itself a good home!

Here are some other LAN/networking manuals I had as well: (including a Novell Netware for OS/2 Workstation book) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270230079515

I wish you the best of luck to find the vintage software you're looking for!

Regards,

Hi Reini - I'm sure you've come across this page already, but just in case, and if others hadn't seen it, this page is very interesting, and  according to this information, the PM subsystem for NT can be ordered from Microsoft still....

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/archive/ntwrkstn/reskit/os2comp.mspx?mfr=true

Someone somewhere has this file I'm sure.  If only we knew the name of the file(s).

Cheers, and Happy Hunting!

Hi Reini - would IBM LAN Server version 3 be of use to you?    I once had version 2, but I sold it some time back.

Marketplace / Re: OS/2 Certification

Hi Fahrvenugen, did you ever try the apps on the CD?  I don't know what happened to mine - I sure can't find it.... did you ever take any of the cert. tests?

Marketplace / OS/2 Certification
2008.04.01, 18:36:16
Remember the OS/2 Certification program to get OS/2 professionals certified by IBM?  There were classes, tests, books, etc. just like the MSCSE certification programs.

Recently I came across some of these materials in my 'archive' and I've put them up for bid on eBay. The large book does not have the CD-ROM originally included, but there is an official IBM Education catalog I've added which completely details the certification process and lists all course objectives for the various certification programs once offered. You can use these materials to "certify yourself" on OS/2, LAN Server and more.

Please have a look...

I have some OS/2 networking items I'll offer soon as well - please check my other listings...

I had a copy of the complete IBM OS/2 Programmer's Toolkit version 1.2, and I recently sold it on eBay to a fellow in Norway.  I wish I had more of them!   Please let me know if you need the part number of the item or any of the books or other materials inside.

Presentation Manager for NT4, eh?  Does it just run old 16-bit MS OS/2 apps?  Sounds like vintage fun, if I'm guessing correctly...!  ;-)

Hi - I have some Microsoft Press LAN Manager books, and some OS/2 Client Server books from VanNostrand Publishing related to OS/ 1.x.  I was planning to put them on eBay.  Unfortunately, I don't have any 16-bit software to offer - just books and manuals.

Please send me an email if you're interested in any, and I may scrounge up some other titles to mention  by then.

Marketplace / Re: CA-Realizer 2.0A
2008.03.23, 14:55:05
Think of CA-Realizer as the Visual Basic that OS/2 never had.  It is quite full featured. Somehow I think it contained a lot of 16-bit code (anyone, please correct me if I'm wrong), and it did not seem to support multithreading.  All of this, I think, because it was a dual platform package (OS/2 and Windows).

Hi - sure you can use my scans (thanks for asking first!). :)

I don't know that I ever saw another package of this game ever! I did a search for Reed Software and found a teeny bit of info:

uhm.. I think I don't have that blackjack game on my games site:

...even that the name "Reed Software" sounds familiar.

Can I use your scans to add this games to my page ?

With apologies for not alerting the forum earlier with a shameless plug for this item, my last copy of Borland C++ for OS/2 is now on eBay and the auction ends today.

The auction is for the installation media only - the books and box were lost long ago, however, complete documentation in softcopy (OS/2 .ipf files) are on the CD-ROM.

Many thanks for looking -

Two items of the OS/2 Bookshelf from DUX Software are on eBay now...

American Heritage Dictionary / Roget's II Thesaurus
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270208280120

and

Columbia Concise Encyclopedia
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=270207248819

Should you win them both, I'm happy to combine shipping. These are both lightweight and will be very reasonable to ship worldwide.

Thanks for reading and for continuing to use OS/2!
