Is there a way from an os/2 warp prompt to release and renew a dhcp address.  Linux has several different ways of doing this depending on the distro, ie.dhcp or dhcpcd.  in windows it would be ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew.  How can I do that on an OS/2 warp machine?

thanks for the reply WarpCafe.  Since my last post I was have moved all of the Docmain Controllers to the same subnet and this got me up and running.

The domain in question exists on 2 seperate subnets.
The OS/2 machine is on the 10. subnet and it's trying to access server shares on the 192. subnet.  Same domain, just different subnets..Could this be a problem?

I've gotten past the initial error by editing the mptn\bin\setup.cmd file which at least gets me into the OS.  now I'm having difficulty adding it to the domain.  if I run logon /d:domain it logs me in but I cannot see any of the servers\shares on my domain.  It says that the logon attempt was successful and if you checkout the Lan Logoff there is an open session connected to the domain but I cannot ping the domain.  The DNS servers assigned via the dhcp settings are the same dhcp settings I'm using everywhere else successfully.

We recently had some subnet changes which affected the dhcp server at my location.  Now when I startup my OS/2 machine it hangs at a black screen saying dhcp failed and then this error pops up:

"SIOCADDRT: Network is Unreachable
Press Enter to Continue..."

Nothing happens if I press enter, I cannot load the OS to change any network settings.  I can boot into dos and have access to the d:\ drive which is root for os/2.  I have been looking through the different ini files trying to find out how to maybe disable dhcp through the command line so the os will boot.  I've looked through the IBMLAN and TCPIP folders and can't find anything.  Does anyone know how to bypass that error to get the OS to load so I can check out the network settings?

I have seen this post (http://www.os2ezine.com/20000716/homenet.html) but it looks as if he is able to press <enter> after the error displays and have the OS boot, I unfortunately am unable to do this, it just hangs at the error and never boots after pressing <enter>
