I found this while looking for small wooden boats.

The eCS install comes on 3 Cd's. Since there are DVDs, is it possible to have it all on one DVD?  ??? I have an USB DVD drive for my Acer Aspire One netbook computer. Win 7 starter is too limited.

(this could be a mute point of eComStation already comes on one DVD but my registration at eCS seems to be no longer active).

I find this ironic. It is an umbrella with solar cells. If it is sunny out, one would not need the umbrealla. When it is raining, the sun would (probably) not be out to power the solar cells. I think it would be better as a parasol.  8)

Hardware / Raspberry Pi and eCS?
2012.05.20, 02:12:22
Here is the Raspberry Pi. Could eComStation run on it? (from another post about another board).

Now it has a camera attachment.

There is also a magazine for it called MagPi. :)  http://www.themagpi.com/

I think this would make for a very small eComStation computer. Would there be any problem installing eCS onto it or run it on it?

It has not come out yet but it seems one could install eCS onto it. Could one install eCS via an USB disc drive or is there a way to use an USB flash drive to install it from?  ???

It would be neat to see an eCS 'skin' on it.  ;D
"Sapphire will load the Edge-HD3 with FreeDOS software, but it also supports Windows 7 or other operating systems." I think it is cool that they add the 'or other operating systems' part.

It would be neat if the Isostick is reasonably priced so one could try installing eCS with it (like installing it on this type of computer).

It is suppose to be seen as not just an USB but an optical drive.
Would eCS work with it? It is not made, yet. The company is looking for investors.

I wonder if there is a pocket version of this?  ::)

I have an older Asus EEE 701a pc. I tried installing eComStation 2.0 on it using an USB cd-rom drive. It got to a point where it kept asking to insert the installation disc even though it was already in the USB cd-rom drive. The USB cd-rom drive has been around for awhile. I currently have FreeDOS on it. IIRC; it has a 32 gig SSD with about 512 meg memory. Would another USB optical drive work or is this little computer too old for 2.0?  ??? I thought it would be neat to try eCS on it.  8)

Hardware / Acer Aspire 3050 and eCS 2.0?
2011.03.28, 18:06:51
I have a 3 year old Acer Aspire 3050 laptop computer. I tried installing eCS 2.0 onto it. It seemed to work to a point. I entered the key and it formatted the drive as JFS. It rebooted but stopped at loading os2dasd on the screen (I am not sure of the exact wording). It beeped once every so often. It stopped trying to load it and gave an error message of not finding the hard drive. I tried again and it no longer sees the hard drive. I tried different settings but it still does not see the hard drive. Is it the driver or the drive that is having problems?  ???

Since it comes with a blue ray/dvd combo drive and no operating system, should installing eCS be - relatively - easy?  ??? For a netop without an OS, it seems on the high side for $530 (USD).  :o

It is a very small computer that boots up from an SD card. Perhaps one could install eCS via an USB cd drive and install it to the SD Card?  ??? or one could install it to the SD card and install the SD card to boot from it?  ???

Here is a nettop without an operating system. Would it be possible to install OS/2-eCS onto it?   ??? I like the idea that it comes without an operating system. It is nice not having to pay for an OS that one is not going to use.  8)

Since it uses Java, could it work with eCS?  ??? http://www.hamsphere.com/
