David,

Try to open the archive, when the window comes up press help, and then follow the instructions in the manual.  It has something to do with the start and end dashed lines.  I finally got it to work.

Seems once setup it even loads the archives made with the -ZBZIP option (bzip2):

3-07-09  13:52         220,277           0  test.zip
3-07-09  15:06         203,696           0  test1.zip

test.zip is zip -9 and test1.zip is zip -9 -ZBZIP

Mike

Can you attach your archiver.bb2 so I can try your start and end dash lines that you modified?

Hi Mike

I noticed the unzip options are not the same as with the older versions of unzip.  FM/2 cannot open or extract a zip based on the normal unzip options.  Mike, do you know what has changed?

I've uploaded ACPIThrottle to hobbes.  While doing so I saw that there is a CPUspeed that I had forgotten about.  Unfortunately there is no source included with it.  I haven't tried it on the system I was wanting this for but didn't have much success with it in my testing on another system some time ago when I tried it.  I would recommend though, that people give it a shot as I think it is probably a better approach than mine.

Is this similar to the following program found on Hobbes?

The dll 017 can be found in the following package

http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/download/pub/os2/apps/graphics/fotoget1011_wpi.zip

As far as I am aware, there is no sources.

Hi Jan-Erik

I was playing around and made a few bitmaps for DrDialog.  If you like, I would try to make more when I have time.  I have attached them below.

Here is something JEP may be interested in also.

This is not found on Hobbes.

Be sure and download the latest version 3.15.  It fixes a lot of problems and adds a bunch of enhancements.  This is a must have because it fixes so many problems.  It can be downloaded from Hobbes Incoming and Netlabs Incoming.  For a list of the changes, see

http://svn.netlabs.org/fm2/report/6?USER=anonymous&page=2

Enjoy.  A lot of work was put into this release.

If you have any free time, leave a message on the FM/2User news group to tell them you really appreciate the program and their hard work.

Report bugs to the same group.  The team wants to hear from you.

Hi Cris

You may want to read ticket 1527.  Whether the code in eStyler can be used in EWP too, I have no idea.

Hi David

Glad to hear eStyler has been fixed. I would like to give it a try... do you have a url for the modified files?

Regards

Pete

Hi Pete

I just tried it on my eCS partition that would not shutdown properly with EWorkplace shutdown.  eStyler shutdown does the job.

Guys, FWIW, eStyler shutdown is still there, just turned off by default.  There is a way to enable the estyler shutdown that is disabled in RC6A.  You will need to install the modified estyler files by Alex Taylor.  He has fixed the problem of shutting down with ACPI installed.

To install either one, replace the three DLLs under \ecs\dll with the ones from the package, and also replace \ecs\system\estyler\estyler.exe (then reboot). (estlrl11.dll will have to be unlocked first.)

example: from a command prompt, type

unlock <drive letter>:\ecs\dll\*.*

and then hit enter.

Once the files are replaced, reboot and run "estlrsh" from a command prompt.

Be sure and turn off the Eworkplace shutdown on the Desktop properties page.

When I shutdown my notebook, (eCS 2.0rc6) here's what happens:
   1. Click on Shutdown on dropdown menu
   2. ECS Extended Shutdown Window
Shutdown Only radio button is clicked
   3. Click OK
   4. System starts shutting down, screen goes to black with thin blue line that turns white as it contracts into a dot and disappears. There is NO indication that it's OK to turn off the system, just a black screen.
   5. I power off the system. When I do this, there is HDD activity, which there shouldn't be.  The next time I turn it on, it goes thru CHKDSK as if the system was not properly shut down.

How do I get Shutdown to work properly?

Thanks in advance.

I had this happen with RC4.  Nothing worked except a new install.  Once installed again, everything worked fine.  I hate to mention this because what worked for me may not work for others.

Dennis, have you tried running chkdsk to make sure the partition is not dirty?
