I see..thanks.  This appears to be a feature in XWP but not EWP.
That is correct, it is not considered stable enough to add to ewp.  Also, it changes the way file associations work... I never could get used to the change (used to be a separate option but they found that turbo folders needed the file associations to achieve any level of stability.

Hmm, I run WPS-Wizard, e-styler, styler/2, XWorkplace (full not as shipped with eCS), and dragtext .  I used to also run NPSWPS (I think that was the name) but only used one feature from it, everything else I wanted was duplicated with one of these others.

Backspace is an open parent rather than truly back... WPS-Wizard does add a button for Open Parent.

Hi Sigurd
Have you tried this uniaud32 driver ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/incoming/uniaud32-vpc.zip  ?
Regards
Pete
It should fix the VPC issue (I've only tested with the latest uniaud16).  I don't know if it will help with the Voice Type, I would be curious to know if it does (though I wouldn't expect it to).

I can do a file export in Draw with OO 3.4 on OS/2 and there is an option for SVG.
I just insert a jpg and then exported the SVG and the resulting SVG looks fine in Seamonkey.

Has anyone attempted to run LibreOffice under Odin?

I did succeed in converting a VPC image to vbox but it was several years ago so I don't recall any specifics; so I am only posting to say that yes it can be done.  I eventually ended up dropping vbox due to lack of audio support but ran the converted image quite a bit nonetheless.

I will be attempting (assuming I can make the necessary "machine borrow" to test) to compile one of the open source Linux ServeRAID SAS drivers for use on eCS - but I'll warn you: (1) I am VERY rusty on this (haven't done a driver in over a decade) and (2) I need to put together a "development package" to use - any suggestions? Perhaps Paul's build environment is suitable? Anyone else have an already-set-up build environment that will save me some time?
I believe the best development package for drivers is probably OpenWatcom.  That is what is being used for Alsa and Multimac.  I don't know about using GCC to build drivers but I am guessing that as both Uniaud and Multimac would probably have been built with GCC if it was possible (especially considering that when Uniaud was first done it was by Innotek who had ported GCC) it would have been used.

It is a 7979ac1  these specs seem close, though the drives in this machine are 146G:

Adaptec RAID BIOS 5.2-0
IBM ServeRAID 8k
I had seen the M1 and M2 designators (maybe even the M3 and M4) while trying to find drivers but not a way to determine which one the system is.  The best I have been able to tell this must be at least the M2 as I think the previous versions to it did not have SAS but that I cannot confirm for 100%.

The installer just does not see any drives.

I have been seeing if I could install eCS 2.1 on an IBM System 3650 that I have an opportunity to test.  The drives are SAS (serial attached scsi) that I have not found a driver for.  I tried the ipsraid, ahci, danis506, and various Adaptec scsi drivers (seems to be Adaptec based).  It seems that there are no drivers to handle this but thought I would check to see if anyone knew of something that might work.

I'm interested but have only had time to download it and not anything beyond and am not sure I will for a week or so.

There is the activator for ATI and Intel. I had used the Intel one without any issue.
I wonder if there is something that can help me to have basic widescreen resolution on Nvidia card. I have eCs 2.1 on a machine that has a Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 and I can not have 1920x1080 resolution it supports.
That also makes me wonder what about the HDMI audio output that this kind of card have. Anybody has experience trying to make them work?
No experience with the audio but unless something has recently been released there is no NVIDIA widescreen activator.

I also use VPC 5.1 on my ThinkPad T43, with GENMAC drivers for the Broadcom NIC, and Intel (2915) WiFi. I don't think I ever even considered using VPC with the WiFi, but I just tried it, and it, somehow, disables the NIC, so it won't connect. It does work fine on the wired NIC, using DHCP for the host, and the clients.
It disables the wireless NIC as it tries to go into promiscuous mode (it is seen as two NICs by the router - in fact we used to have to use NAT at work with a VM solution as the ports were setup to be disabled if seeing more than one NIC attached).  I don't know if that is merely a driver limitation or not.
To use it with WiFI connection requires binding the VS to the wired NIC and then having the wired NIC set with a static IP in a different subnet than the WiFI is on
(e.g. 192.168.1.x and 192.168.2.x) and having a static route set on the router so that calls to the one subnet forward to the other... I don't recall the details.  On Lewis Rosenthal's wireless list there are details written up by Dave Saville on how to do it.

I use VPC, but always with Virtual Switch. I need a Cisco VPN client, and that requires the Virtual Switch connection. In fact, I'd forgotten we even had any way to use VPC with a WiFi card. So for me, I'd use an external WiFi device with the wired LAN. Ugly, but it gets you there.

This should all be fixed soon^H^H^H^Hsomeday with MultiMac on Intel WiFi.
Will the Multimac driver allow promiscuous mode?  I had understood that was a hardware limitation as opposed to driver.   It is possible to use Virtual Switch while WiFi connected though it requires setup on both the machine and the router (on the router a static route must be setup).
