First thing - why use warpoverlay while there is snapoverlay? The only few apps using warpoverlay were (iirc) warpvision (dead now), desktop painter, mplayer and kmp... - except desktop painter - all can work with snapoverlay.
Second thing - I'm using ati 9600 pro (agp) with snapoverlay without any issues. So if there is bug with snapoverlay and ATI cards - then it must be really minor bug ;) So really don't know if ATI x850 (agp) series will worse choice than ATI 9800 series.
Third thing - panorama driver is shitty. If you don't have to - don't use it.

I have a ATI x850 AGP PE and it does not work with SNAP overlay or Warp Overlay (only DIVE).  If anyone has a ATI x850 series working please post the solution! Warpvision locks up immediately, mPlayer locks up within minutes and I have not tried kmp player. If your using mPlayer try specifically selecting SNAP overlay in the config file.  And we are not talking about a 9600 card, but a ATI x850 series card.

However, if you have a ATI 9600 card that Warpvision specifically uses Warp Overlay and mPlayer uses WarpOverlay by the config file, I would really like to know about it. Please send me the config file for mPlayer !!!

I don't care if I am wrong, but post a solution for the ATI x850 series and SNAP-WARPOVERLAY, because there is a huge difference between DIVE and WarpOverlay.

« on: 2010.06.17, 05:53:41 »
I have to agree, I put the /SMP command in and it worked like a charm!

On a side note, I did remove the X1950 Pro card from my computer and put back my ATI 8500 card because it seemed that with the SNAP drivers that the 8500 was faster than the X1950 card with Panorama.

With that though I just ordered a ATI x850 AGP card with 256 megs of ram for only $69.00 with shipping, the 8500 card is getting long in the tooth so I thought for that price I might as well get the fastest video card SNAP can work with.

Thanks for the help!

You may want to consider the ATI 9800 series, because they work with Warp Overlay and the ATI x850 AGP does not (I have one installed now) and ATI cards have a bug with SNAP overlay.  For me there is a huge difference when using Warp Overlay with the ATI 9200-9800 series.

Here is a 'Tips and Info page' for your sound card and UNIAUD:

Any comments and suggestions would be helpful, also add your sound card to the database too.

Thanks,

Utilities / Re: Zip Program

... anyone recommend a good unzip program, possibly with RAR unzipping? Thanks!

Arcview can use rar also, eg http://www.ecomstation.it/ecsoft2/prog.php?progid=830&name=RAR&sys=os2+ecomstation.

Otherwise I've for a long time used 7zip under Odin. It'll have its graphic Odin oddities, but works splendid, and do just "all" archiving types.

Winrar works perfectly under INNOWIN, only no extended attributes.

Just drop in on the Acrobat 5.1 program icon to install it.

You may want to try Desktop Wizard

http://www.os2notes.com/os2dwizard.html

The primary goal of Desktop Wizard is to make the OS/2 user more productive by adding new items to the pop up menus of files, folders and the Desktop and it adds excellent zip/unzip integration to the desktop.

Unzip and ZIP files

The most useful and natural feature is the unzip menu.  Clicking this entry causes the contents of the zip file to be placed in a new subdirectory of the main unzip folder that you specify. The name of this new subdirectory is the same as the name of the zip file, but without the .zip at the end. This makes it easy to unzip any zip file - Desktop Wizard does all the rest, even opening the related directories, if so desired. It can also create a shadow on desktop for easy access.

Applications / Re: Kill application

Hello everbody!

I'm working with a pre-installied OS/2 Warp 3 system...

There is one problem:
At system startup an application is auto started and stucks during initializing! Soi s there a possibility to close (kill) this application with a key shortcut or is there something like a taskmanger in OS/2???

Hold down the "Shift" key when the WPS first starts to appear and keep it held down until the WPS is fully displayed.

That will stop any programs that are loading from the Start-Up folders.

OR

Remove the - PROGRAMS - from the statement below in your CONFIG.SYS

SET AUTOSTART=PROGRAMS,TASKLIST,FOLDERS,LAUNCHPAD

The eComStation 2.0 Soundcard Database

Homepage: http://sound.os2notes.com/

Add your sound card or any onboard chipset experience to the database !

    * The main focus is eCom 2.0, but any experience is welcome.
    * If you are using eCom 2.0 please enter default for ACPI & UNIAUD version, unless specifically changed.
    * Please comment on your baseline eCom 2.0 experience, good or bad!
    * If you already have uniaud installed, but do not know what type of hardware you have. Type this at a command prompt: unimix.exe -card

Applications / Re: Internet Radio and IceCAST servers?

Hi!
When I first read this thread, I thought it was about Firecast, an Ices port by Andrey Vasilkin, but I didn't find any mention to it here, so I think you might be interested to know this app.
I never tried it myself, but I think it has the very features you guys were discussing above.  This is the URL:
http://digi.os2.snc.ru/eng/firecast

where you can download the app.

Regards

Thanks, Blue Warper,  I'll add it to my page when I get a chance.

Thank you, Fahrvenugen for all the tips.  I wasn't even thinking about a direct line input, will have to try that out.

I'm going to see if the new VLC works for encoding too.

Thanks,

What do you use to encode the stream on eCS.  I was going to check out the new VLC beta1 that was just ported.

I was playing around with eCom 2.0 and found the 'Internet streams' template.

Does anyone have a IceCAST server setup on eCS with VLC.

And what about using Z to records the streams???

Quick test of Beta 1,  seek is better than mPlayer 4.4.2 and WarpVision, I had problems with sound with seeking ahead with mP & VW. However, beta 1 gets out of sync sometimes and it takes about 20-30 sec to read network share directories.

Over all great job, KO Myung-Hun!

Thank you!

Here is a TIP - If you don't want to burn the other 2 CD immediately try: ISOFS V1.0.3 to mount the ISO image.
