As do I. I look forward to version 2.0 coming out but it seems to be taking quite awhile.  :(

Can one still get a software subscription and get the different release versions of eCS 2.0?  ???

http://www.liliputing.com/2009/04/asus-eee-pc-1004dn-to-pack-expresscard-new-software-optical-disc-drive.html Since it has an optical drive, one would assume it would be esier to install eCS onto it?  ???  I guess the downside would be that the price would be closer to that of a notebook computer than a netbook computer.

"Also acclaimed: VAX/VMS, DR-DOS, Atari TOS and more. Oh, the memories!"
They quote alot of people praising OS/2 and one (at least) mentions eComStation.  ;D

Could the maintenance partition be on an USB drive?  Could it be a way to boot or install from an USB drive?  ???

Perhaps one could install eCS onto it?

I have read that the Cherry Pal pc has not really been delivered to any one yet. Perhaps the Bing would be that way too?  ???

"Asus shows dual screen notebook prototype"

"Asus is showing off a computer at CeBIT this week that has two screens and no hardware keyboard. Odds are one of the screens will have an on-screen software keyboard, and may or may not produce tactile feedback to give you the sense that you’re actually typing on keys."
Here is the notebook version of it. Would it be the same when trying to install eCS onto this as the netbook mentioned above?  ???

It has a virtual keyboard instead of a physical one. Can one install eCS onto it? Would one need an USB keyboard to install eCS?  ??? This is similar to the OLPC ver 2.0 concept computer.

http://www.liliputing.com/2009/03/ocz-announces-barebones-netbook-with-diy-hardware.html
"Can’t decide if you want a mini-laptop with Windows XP, Windows 7, Ubuntu, Xandros, Linpus Linux Lite, or any number of other operating systems? OCZ has an interesting idea: How about a netbook that doesn’t come with an operating system at all. You don’t have to pay for an operating system license, and there are no Microsoft-imposed restrictions on the hardware, which means you can get up to 2Gb of RAM and a hard drive as large as you want."
I rather have a bare bones pc to try eCS than one that has an os that I pay for but not use. What do you think?  ???

Article Discussions / start to lose interest?
« on: 2008.12.20, 17:45:56 »
People will start to lose interest in eCS 2.0 if it takes too long before it comes out to the general public (ie; non software subscribers). Those who might be interested in trying eCS might be put off by such a long development time. Even if it is not perfect, it would be nice to see an eCS 1.5?  ???
