ODIN / Re: Current Status of the ODIN OS/2 Project
« on: 2007.10.08, 16:49:42 »
The best bet might be ODIN since it is open source. There is some doubt about WAPE being open source. WAPE seemed to have promise but it did not seem to go anywhere.  :(

I hope it does not go the way of WAPE.  :( It showed promise but did not really go anywhere.

Socket Service / Re: Wifi Card and No IRQ Set?
« on: 2007.10.02, 23:59:14 »
I had tried the wifi card from the A22m Thinkpad. I had also plugged in the network cable. It stopped booting till one of the two network connections was disconnected. It is an Intel Pro /100 SP MOBILE COMBO ADAPTER.

The T23 did not stop booting when I have the Broadcom in the compartment for it.

Networking / Broadcom and eCS?
« on: 2007.10.02, 15:39:33 »
The wifi card in the bottom compartment of the T23 is (following information take from it) Broadcom BCM43006KFB HA0520 P30 744867 M (from bottom) 802.11g mini-PCI Card model #188621264 MAC: 0014A532F137 S/N: CNSZY53202MX BRCM Rev 6 4306Co 2050. I was using the IBM prism driver with it. Should I be using another driver? Could this be the reason it is not registering the IRQ and other setting?  ???

IBM miniPCI PRISM 2.5 Wireless Card using Primsp4 v1.0 is what shows.

The Intel Pro/Wireless 2011B LAN PC Card shows as 'lan' and the 3G Laptop Card Option GT MAX 3.6 card shows as 'memory' (from the pc card plug and play program).  8)

At the Warpstock America, there was a lecture on wifi and eCS. They used it to connect (or try to) to hotels wifi network. They also had a wifi router in the room. I could not get my pc card to work. This was before I purchased the wifi card that is in the T23 (slot on bottom of T23 for it).  8)

I think the device that can not get the IRQ setting is the wifi card that is in the Thinkpad and not the pc card one. I had bought two and one is in the T23. I do not think it came with a cd but I found the drivers/software online.  8)

I think I did. I will check to make sure. Thanks for the information.  8) I will look for the cd that came with it.

It was a little device that connects to the network port and powered by an usb connector. It allowed one to have wifi connection without having to use special drivers. It was - supposedly -easier to use than a wifi pc card. I have a wifi pc card but having problems getting it the ports to register on boot up (another post covering this).  8)

Security / Most but not eComStation?

OpenOffice bug hits multiple operating systems http://news.zdnet.com/2100-1009_22-6209919.html?tag=nl.e550
"
Security experts have discovered vulnerabilities in OpenOffice.org that could allow attackers to remotely execute code on Linux, Windows or Apple Mac-based computers. " I noticed that eComStation is not listed. Does this mean eCS is not affected by it?  ???
