Networking / unable to browse win7 shares...
« on: 2011.12.10, 15:51:40 »
Hi,

The EVFSGUI  does not display the shares of a win7 system.. I am a bit confused here, do I need to install any extra software? (running eCS 2.1)
note that I can ping the win7 system , also the shares can be accessible from other systems that run: XP, linux even an OpenBSD box, but not from eCS!

thanks in advance!

Hi,

Thank you! This works, as I can see the status led blinking, unfortunately I cannot
setup the DHCP on the card, the DHCP  is grayed out on the network settings... I may do
something wrong or the driver does not support DHCP?

thx

Hardware / Aironet 350 driver...
« on: 2011.10.27, 23:54:05 »
Hi guys,

I got an Aironet 350 card from a friend and I tried to use it withe the eCS 2.1 but in vain..
There is a driver for 350/340 at Hobbes but is for the 340 as I see.... Also I noticed there
an ftp site with this driver (on the old os2world forums) but that ftp site has nothing...
Any idea, please, where can I find the driver for this? As I see its supported under os/2
(is on the en.ecomstation.ru h/w list) but I simply cannot find that driver

Thank you in advance!

Is there any utility (like unetbootin for example) that can put the ISO of the eCS
to a bootable USB? I know there is somewhere a procedure to do this, but its not
'automatic'..

thx in advance

btw. I think something is broken on the eCS 2.1 regarding the ACPI..
I set the boot menu to ACPI (not the "safe" mode) and the cd booted until the blue eCS 2 screen then stopped there...

I have this hardware:
- Intel Desktop Board DH55TC
- Intel i5 750.
- 6GB DDR3 RAM
- 200GB HDD SATA

eComStation 2.0 installed and booted fine with "IDE Only" mode on Bios (with SATA HDD).
eComStation 2.1 is now installed and booted fine with OS2AHCI driver with the SATA mode turned on in the BIOS. You have to also enable the OS2AHCI driver option when booting from the CD with options.

I still get the effin trap d error... all off the sata ports are supported on IDE mode
I even installed Icaros (Amiga AROS) on a spare SATA  to check the IDE mode....
just the eCS 2.1 does not work properly as it supposed to work..

Hi,

I have the same issues with 2.1 GA and an ASRock H67 m/board (core i5-2500). Putting the SATA on IDE mode did not help anyway...

chris

Did you ensure you were using the ports that were able to be enabled in "IDE Only Mode"? I've seen a few new machines that only allow a subset of ports to be switched to IDE mode. For instance, SATA0-3 cannot, but SATA 4-5 can be switched. Thus, the BIOS settings for IDE/AHCI/RAID only apply to SATA 4-5 regardless of what's implied in the BIOS (I've seen some BIOS config menus that spell it out, and others where it's only spelled out in the manual).

good point ! thanx I totally forgot it... I think the HDD that I am trying to install the eCS 2.1 is on a SATA port that supports the IDE mode, but not sure 100%
I have to check it, but now now I am abroad so...... I will report back asap.

cheers

Hi,

Thank you for the help.

I decided to re-install the eCS without PCMCIA support and now works ok....
Could it be this?

Now I don't have PCMCIA support, in fact I was looking to install a USB2 cardbus card,
but I doubt if its supported under eCS.

Alternative, can I use any of the listed driver for T21/22/23 so the X24 can use the PCMCIA?

thx
