Vapourware - You Bet! Try to take a look at the posted screen captures at the site; take a closer look (click to view the images in a new window) eCS icons and you'll notice the typical jpeg compression has done it's fair share to everything that has to do with eCS, but the larger sections of the desktop is nice and clean. So if for me it looks clearly as a good PhotoShop work since there are too many interesting compression errors in the image when you start to look at it.

I just noticed that there is a little issue where the form says "You need to enter a subject." after you sent of your e-mail to the other users; but it seems just to be a cosmetic issue - the e-mail is sent. but I will fix this little error as soon as time is given.

Article Discussions / Re: PMMail/2 version 3.0 beta 1

Since there are Thunderbird issues mentioned; I've started a new thread to make it easier to follow the two topics.

But about pmMail I really liked it and loved they way one could make scripts to handle incoming e-mail; but since I also wanted make use of PGP I moved over to Thunderbird that had better support. So in my case I used a little perl script to convert the content in pmMail to Thunderbird. This old thread might be of interest. I've also attached the script to this posting as well.

Mail-News / Thunderbird issues
« on: 2007.06.06, 15:01:09 »
Since this thread talks about issues with Thunderbird I thought about breaking up the two threads to make it easier to follow the topics.

Ben: I used Thunderbird for about a year and got sick of it eating my E-mail. I get over 100 messages a day and it simply couldn't handle it, (though I liked the built-in HTML viewers... sorta).

Kind of curious here since I can't really recall that I've noticed this kind of issue and my Thunderbird installation holds around 70.000 e-mails spread over 18 different accounts. But what can be a reason for loosing e-mails might be improper closing of Thunderbird since it keeps the mail in large files and not small files as pmMail does. So in that way Thiunderbird is actually sensitive and has a high risc of rough system handling. This also makes backup a pain since my Thunderbird directory has 4.65gb of data and the inbox and outbox mail are keept in 2 large files. So when making a backup it has to backup the entire directory; incremental doesn't really work out here and that is really bad.

Also the next issue, the bigger the mail files gets the longer it takes Thunderbird to start and get ready.
