Well, since a few of us needs the old forum to make ref points from the new forum; I've moved UltraBoard and it can be found here:

http://www.os2world.com/cgi-bin/ultraboard/UltraBoard.cgi

The forum should be locked up so only staff can post new post, but only to point over to new threads in the forum. So if you either are really active in the forum or just wants to help out to build up the new system with ref points, let us know and you'll get the proper access.

Among other all the leading bounty threads will be build up in the new forum and ref points to the old will be made.

Also I really would like input about 1) should we try to migrate all the old posts and 2) how do we avoid migrating old dead user accounts to the new system - suggestion has been made that we migrate all Ultraboard posts to one new user in the new forum (for example ub2usr) - but that would make the threads kind of hard to follow.

Or is the current way an acceptable work around?

The SMF forum icon that I think you're ref to connects into Joomla system. So if you have managed to log out of the main site (joomla) and still log in in the SMF forum you get this error (I think).
#573
Ok, thanks I will check that out to see what it is.

All old articles will be migrated so no worry and the old forum will be moved as well; we talked about migrating the old forum post into this new forum, but problem is that there is just too many user accounts not in use. So I think that it might be better to move the old and make ref points to old posts or ref points from old threads to new threads here in this forum.

[Just a little note for the non-Swedish users; this thread is about issues regarding UTF-8 viewing and if you have still issues with strange characters, please contact either me or Tommy]

Found a parameter in the smf forum settings file that was enabling the utf-8 coding, disabled this so I hope that it shouldn't be an issue anymore.

Noticed myself, thought that this was solved, and i'll look into it. Problem is that Joomla 1.0.12, as far as I read, doesn't support UTF-8. SMF forum supports UTF-8 and I don't know if this managed to get some kind of mixture here.

Since late last. .. .

Is this the magic code that we could need? Since we're not able to rely on SNAP in future I guess quite a few of us has started to look around on how this can be solved.

Just to make sure when talking about the Wiki part, is it the one you can reach from the left column meny:

http://w3.os2world.com:8080/component/option,com_mambowiki/Itemid,41/

Well, I agree that the Wiki should have more space and I just have to figure out to make that happend, it's kind of narrow. All see what I can figure out here.

And I agree with you that the feature to highlight stories in the main index page is nice. When we post an article we can tell the system to post it as well on the main index page and for how long. So quite nice feature.

General Discussion / Re: Way better

Well, it's a start at least to the new site; there is of course still loads of things that needs to be done and can be improved. But, let's take small steps at the time and with the help and feedback from the community I think that we can jump-start and create a way more interactive community.

Thanks Rob, yes this one of the things that needs to be fixed and this is something that I need to change in the template for the forum. The idea is to add the header and footer layout from the main page to the forum, just as we have at the current site.

Well, as already mentioned we are getting close to open up the site and yes there is still lots of things that needs to be done. We might even forget something one way so don't hesitate to post suggestions, ideas or just remind about what every you think we missed out or something you would like to see here at the new OS2 World.

Faxworks disappearing - what do we do? This poll has been suggested to see if there is a need for new fax software for OS2.
